This is a spinoff to the Bitter Sushi Ladies Thread over on TTC. Some of us have very happily made it to the "other side" and we want to be able to keep track of each other.

Our fellow BSL's that are still on their TTC journey like to check up on us from time to time too - which we really appreciate - since they continue to be in the midst of a sometimes brutal and just "NOT FAIR" TTC journey...

So here we are...

Hi enigo!! How are you?! I should go stalk more at the BSL Proper these days. Thanks for driving by

How is everyone else doing today?

Any new developments? How are you doing Jess, you're so quiet- just passing these SLLLOOOOOOWWW early weeks?

AFM, bought a few more mat shirts, and one pair of mat pants for spring/summer. Went with my mom, and while she was generally pretty good, she did say, "Well, honey, you're not that far along yet." UM. THANKS. LIKE I DIDN'T ALREADY THINK THAT TIME WAS PASSING SOOOO SLOWLY. since when is it a crime to be "not that far along?" am I supposed to fit into my clothes until suddenly a stomach explodes out of me at 35 weeks?!

UGH. not that great. luckily, it was toward the end of shopping, and we could go get lunch, food always makes me feel better.

anywho, I usually hate clothes shopping- so why I thought that shopping now, that I look mostly just fatter, and NOT pregnant (as my mom lovingly pointed out, did I mention that?!) it's really delightful.... if only I were the "wow- you're al baby" people like my sister (who btw, HAD to tell me that she hasnt gained "even an inch" on her thighs or butt, it's just all in her belly. thanks, sis.) can you tell today is a Mood Swing Monday? HA!!

Lets end on a high note. It's less than 2 weeks till our anatomy scan.

Now it's your turn! tell me something good!!

we're on the same wavelength today.

Hey Liz... we double posted your post! But now I see you went and caught it before I could post this one. Well, I just didn't want your nice post to get missed by everyone....

I remember with DD just not showing very much until well after 20 weeks. I gave a friend a baby shower in late October (where I would have been about where I am now... and I was just starting to pop). So don't worry yet. And as for your Mom, well, she should just learn to keep her ... then she can't talk. :nana

I remember not filling out the full front panel pants at all until the last couple of months. At Motherhood (and at Kohls) they have a different kind of full panel pant, that is stretchy all the way around. They seem to fit me much better now... I just hope they'll fit all the way till the end! Pants always get too short on me at the end - when my huge belly fills them up too much.

I can't wait to hear!

MaerynPearl - Sorry you were feeling so icky Mae. My body doesn't really like me much this pgcy either. I'm too achy for 23 weeks and my digestive system makes no sense at all.

Even if at some point I want to, I don't know that I would do this again. I feel gross for so much of the day and I am an irritable wreck! Especially with DH... my poor, poor DH. I'm snotty with him and then because I feel so gross by nighttime, he's getting very little action in the bedroom...

AFM - Caleb is really moving like crazy lately! Its so much fun! I can even see my bare belly wiggle and bump if I lay still and DH can feel him pretty much every day. DD hasn't yet, she's just not patient enough to wait it out. Almost all movement is on my left side though... its like he's found a comfy spot and crammed himself over there. My belly was lopsided (to the left) at the end of my pgcy with DD... so maybe she made a nice comfy groove in my uterus!

Alright Ladies... I really need to go do some productive cleaning. I so hope we get the "new" house... its much smaller in some ways, and newer, and will be so much easier to take care of!

Thanks for the new thread! I was just thinking... it would almost be appropriate to make us the bittersweet sushi ladies thread... since its bittersweet to graduate but still have the others left in the original thread

My mom came over yesterday to help me scrub my floors. Towards the end, exhausted and cranky and just plain feeling FAT she looks at me and goes

WOW! You are really starting to show huh?!

She is so awesome. Always knows what to say to make me feel better so much nicer thinking AWWW LOOK AT MY BABY BELLY! instead of awww im getting fat!

Also yesterday or the day before I had this sudden burst of baby movements... just for a short period and its back to every now and then feeling a bump, but I have been pretty busy and sick so I'm pretty much either moving or sleeping right now. To think, it was yesterday indeed... and I had just gotten done rearranging my cupboard and was leaning against the chair to relax and it was just this sudden flurry of movement. Made me giggle. I cant wait to feel it more often!!!!

I lost it. Beta came back at 3 yesterday . AF started in full force today. Thanks for supporting me for the short time I was here ladies. Back to the drawing board with the RE tomorrow. I'll be doing injectables this cycle. Hopefully I'll be back soon. Love you girls!
Oh Nanette- I am so so sorry. There arent any words to make it better. I hope you're back here soon too. So much to you. Take care of yourself.
Nanette - oh, sh*t. I am so sorry to read this post. I have been quiet here lately, but have been thinking about you and was really hoping for high numbers. I really hope the injectables are the ticket and that you're back here in no time at all. and xoxo

LZP - ugh, sorry about the negatory mom experience. I now feel even luckier to have had my MIL be so sweet taking my shopping, reminding me that "I'm not fat, I'm pregnant." Lol. Hopefully a nice lunch cheered you up some.

Oh, and for the upcoming anatomy scan!!! So exciting! I can't believe I have to wait another 10 weeks for that; seems like an eternity!

Mae - your mom sounds wonderful, scrubbing the floor and doling out the compliments! I am thrilled that you are feeling movement, that part must be amazing!

I really hope you start to feel better soon... this should be the start of that for you, I'd think? How long did you have m/s previous pregnancies??

lisko15 - you made me a little teary w/ your post! I can't wait till DP can feel the baby and start her bonding. That's great to hear that Caleb is so active! And funny that he's in the same spot as your DD used to hang out. Lol!

P.S. GL with the house-getting!!!!

AFM - well, speaking of "showing early" here's my barely 10-week belly (9w5d) compared to 7w5d (I'm going by u/s dating, but still refuse to move my due date back! Lol).

A lot of the bloat has gone away, I think, but I'm still left with a belly.

7w5d

9w5d

In a way, I'm really happy I've got a bump; I just moved straight in to maternity clothes and skipped the "I don't feel pregnant I feel fat" phase that I've read/heard about... in other ways, I'm nervous as hell. If I'm this big at 10 weeks, what the heck is going to happen at 20? 30?? OMG, 40???!!

I talked to another short-torso'ed mama friend of mine and she said she popped out really early with her first, too... but slowed down w/ the growth in her 2nd tri and didn't grow a ton more till the 3rd. We'll see if that's the case for me!

In any case, the cat is definitely out of the bag to the world at large now. No hiding that belly!

In other news, we had decided against getting the NT scan, because we didn't want unnecessary worry if the screening came back w/ high risk factors (since we would opt not to have further testing done) but now I'm really just wanting to see the baby again, and finding it hard to stick to my guns! I can't imagine waiting till the 20 week anatomy scan to see him/her again!

What did you all do w/ regard to the NT scan?
I keep trying to reply here and getting sidetracked!

Lots of love to everyone! I'm afraid if I start personals I won't get enough time to post again. My u/s is a week and two days away.. not counting down or anything. REALLY REALLY nervous about it.
I'm about 6wks 3days and no real big symptoms. Little bit of queasy and heartburn. My main thing has been fatigue. That of course makes me even more nervous but I can't do anything about it. We'll just have to see what we see next week.
Till then just kind of in limbo. Lurking a lot lately!
Nannette I am so sorry I was so hopeful for you!

jessica_s I didnt get real morning sickness til after 8 weeks. Its normal... actually. Many women get hit really hard around 8/9 weeks that get it.

Lyndzies I tend to show fast (with DD people swore it was twins because I was so obvious so fast) but only because my uterus tilts forward more than most (hyperanteverted) so it starts pushing out faster. Luckily... once I hit about 35 weeks I am full grown and dont get much, if any, bigger. I suppose baby is growing in there... but the external belly stays pretty much the same.

It does suck though because then you look like you are about to burst any minute for over a month! At 28 weeks I already had people asking me if I was due in a month or so. Uh... no... I just hit my third trimester. Oh! Is it twins? NOOOOO.

afm Yes indeed I AM feeling better!

I am 12 weeks today so I am 1 week and 3 days away from the official second trimester.

I just got home from the doctor... I lost 6 pounds in the past month (but trust me, I had a LOT of weight to spare so that's not a bad thing! LOL)

my blood pressure which was borderline too low last time is now a very healthy 104/70

babys heartbeat was extremely easy to find and 170! very slowly going down... I swear baby is going to be hyperactive! lol

Baby has been very active and I have been feeling them more... the doctor is somewhat worried that its twins since I am already measuring so large and I have been feeling movement since a little after my last appointment and its already getting stronger. even though I already had an ultrasound... I told her we will just trust that the u/s tech looked REALLY well (i told her to be sure to check for twins, since they run in the family)

This week my belly sticks out further than my boobs!

Nanette56 - Oh, I'm so very, very sorry. I know how hopeful you were, and I was very hopeful for you too. I hope to see you back here quickly. I will do something to the first page to move you, but keep that little one lost in all of our memories.

Lyndzies - That is quite a belly for 9 weeks! Cool! I really should take one of me to share. I thought I was so big and all that, until I hung out with a friend of mine today that is 29 weeks. She is SO... MUCH... BIGGER!

Quote:

We declined for the exact same reasons as you. I terribly wanted the extra peek at the baby, but not enough to get those scary results back. We had friends get very, very negative results (so scary they were worried about fetal demise) and he is a happy and healthy 7 month old now. I just don't need that... and bad results wouldn't have changed anything "we did".

jessica_s - At 6 weeks a little queasy, heartburn and fatigue, sound right on. My full blown 24/7 m/s doesn't start until after 6, probably closer to 7. And it was awful from weeks 10-11. Keep us posted, and lurk away!

Mae - I also had plenty of weight to spare, I was down 15 lbs from m/s in the beginning of the pgcy, and am just up 4 lbs from that. My doctor was fine with it... she just wanted me to be "gaining" by time I got to the second trimester I think.

I'm glad your appointment went so well!

Hi Liz!

AFM - Had a nice baby/preggo lunch today. Went to a friend's house who had a baby boy in October, and another preggo friend (mentioned above, she's 29 weeks) was there too. It was nice to play with the little 5-month-old baby boy (I'm going to have one of those!) and chat about being pregnant and babies, all that good stuff. My friend also gave me a big bag of 0-3 month baby boy clothes her DS has outgrown. I can't believe Caleb will be that small!

Okay, you made me. Here's my belly pic at 23w3d. Its not the best pic... DD took it and I'm in my sloppy around the house clothes. I did have her do a bare belly one, but yikes... way too many stretch marks leftover from HER to share that!

Everyone have a great rest of the day... off to play Candyland with DD.

like this? http://i235.photobucket.com/albums/e...y/P1070005.jpg

actually you cant see them very well there lol... after both of mine I looked like a tiger attacked me! I wouldnt even pull off my belly band for mom when she took my pic. I dont like anyone seeing my stretchmarks other than my doctor and my future hubby. And he likes them. Weirdo. LOL

(oh and you can compare my growth there... 8 week difference from that pic to the one I took today)

MaerynPearl - Your's don't look that bad!

You know, I don't mind the stretch marks so much. They are proof of carrying DD - it doesn't really bother me. I am so NOT the bikini type anyway (my belly is never flat enough to bare it).

I relooked at the bare belly pics and you can't see the stretch marks that much, but I know where they are! The pics aren't very good though, my shirt and arm are in the way. Maybe when I get another few weeks BIG, I'll have DH take some real pics and share those!

See, its the same with mine. They are SO visible in person but photographs make them fade. Magic cameras. Wish that worked with eyes!

Lyndzies- Holy Belly!! I dont know if mine is even that big at 17w2d! (Actually, it might be, but I have a little layer of cushioning anyway...) We declined the NT scan for the same reason too, but we were lucky enough to have a scan at 10w3d since I was still such a nervous nelly about the progesterone numbers being low/declining. It was so nice to get another peek. And I can't believe our next scan is now in just One week!! (and one day, but I dont count that.) next Friday morning will go sooooo slowly.

I wonder if you could just ask your MW to give you a script for a scan, if you really want one? They are mostly accomodating, IME.

My sis is pg with twins, and she didnt feel them any earlier than when she was pg with one. So, it's not that likely. Esp since you said that you felt movement so early with your others too. hope you get the results you want, and that your DP will be able find out soon after.

Jessica- is your U/S on Thursday?! How fun. I have lots to keep me occupied then- please update us on the results, and how exciting to see your little one!

Lis- glad you had a nice preggo lunch! sounds fun, and how lucky to get all those clothes! I LOVE that bump- a REAL baby bump!! I can't wait. I still feel my stomach and am astonished that it's getting pretty firm. Not just flub but real, actual-baby-in-the-uterus-and-innerds-moving-to-accomodate firm. Though, I stil just call it fat. Yours is abolutely unmistakable!! Is it possible that i could look like that in 6-7 wks?!

AFM, I had a HORRIBLE stomach virus on Tuesday and Weds. I had to leave the office on Tuesday morning. by the time i got home, i had a fever of 100+ and felt sooooo sick. (TMI) I was exhausted, hungry but too nauseated to eat, and nothing would stay in or down. eww. Oh My! And it's still lingering a bit. My mom was also sick on Tuesday-she left work at the same time and everything! weird- we must have been around the same infected person on Sunday. It's still lingering a bit, but i just can't take any more time.

I can officially say that I'm not sleeping anymore. I am so uncomfortable. Not my body, per se, but I just can't get comfortable sleeping since I'm generally a stomach sleeper. I have used pillows, a snoogle, no pillows, extra covers, no covers... nothing works! I'm up at least once every 2 hrs. and poor DH is suffering too from my tossing and turning. Now my PJ pants are also too tight around the waist, and I have to wear pants to bed in the winter. so i think i need to get more pants which is not int he budget.

Wow- that looks like a lot of complaining. I'm not complaining- just stating facts. I signed up for this, longed for it for many many moons, and and am delighted to have this problem. I just thought I might get to enjoy sleep before being up every 2 hrs with a babe. aaah the dreams of a new mama.

How is everyone else doing today?

It's in a week! Feeling positive as I'm still having some growing feelings in the ol' uterus! What ever happens I'm going to have a lovely next weekend filled with lots of wonderful supportive ladies. I'm trying to look forward to that and let the u/s come to me.

I'm headed from a prune to a lime w/in the next week! Let's say lime; tastier!

Yay fuzzy peach!

AFM - I gave in. We're going to do the NT scan. I WILL NOT do any follow-up diagnostics though! I just want to see the baby again and make sure there is still just one.

I'm in a vegetable phase for a few weeks. last week was an avacado, this week, a turnip. eww. (actually, i've never had a turnip, so I should go easy on that little root veggie.)

ETA: lyndz- I hope you get all good results. I'm way too much of an obsessor (as you know) to have the thought of something being "off." just keep in mind they are really not 100% accurate... and you DO get to see that little one again! WOOT!!
