March 30-something mamas TTC #2 or more - Page 3

Wow, day 5 is really early! You might want to chart for a few cycles to confirm that the EWCM you're observing does line up with a temp shift. Better safe than sorry if you decide you're actively TTCing!

Checking in...

Sorry to hear you're still feeling icky MamaLove. Cramps suck.

Welcome Intro/Extrovert! Interesting that you O so early. Seems like we hear a lot from people with long cycles and not as much from shorter-cyclers. My cycle was super irregular when I was a teen and into my early 20s and then magically turned into regular as clockwork 28 to 29 days after I was on the pill for a while (and off it again I mean). After I learned about EWCM I couldn't believe that I had never noticed it before! So obvious!

Tulpen, I used to be a runner, although my sport of choice was ultimate frisbee (hence the name). My teams went to Nationals a couple of times. But then I kept getting injury after injury and decided to say heck with it and get pregnant. I ran a half marathon once and decided my body is just not built for distance. (These days I'm lucky if I get out once or twice a week. With the snow we've had I got in a lot of good x-c skiing the past few weeks though.) Good for you for sticking with it! It's nice that it's getting dark later so there is actually time for a run after work.

AFM...not much going on. Twiddling my thumbs at 8dpo. Not wasting a test for a few more days at least. Tiniest bit of hardly even noticeable possible spotting today (like, a fleck). For some reason I feel like if I enter info like that into Fertility Friend it will put up that blinking "pregnant" sign across my chart, and I'm disappointed when nothing changes. Charting is much more exciting around O time.

My DH has been doing the couch to 5k, so I tried the first work out once a few weeks ago. I was sore for a week after! I'm a swimmer and have never been very good at land sports. I'm planning on trying it again if I don't get pregnant this cycle.

Frisbee-I'm twiddling my thumbs with you, but I think I'm a day or two behind ya!

I really, really want to post some names on the "success list"! Frisbee & Turtlejd, we're twiddling our thumbs along with you ladies!

IntrovertExtrovert - Welcome! I second the recommendation to chart for a couple of cycles to confirm O, especially if you are going to TTC. And ditto the comment that as long as you have a long LP, you should be fine.

Congrats on doing the Couch to 5k program! It's awesome. I used it to start running too. After I was consistently running 3 miles 3-4 times per week, I decided to train for a half-marathon. I never thought I could do it, but I did!

Frisbee- Ultimate Frisbee? cool! I haven't played much, other than in gym class occasionally in school. I do remember it being really fun though.

to you! Good for you for waiting to test! I hope to be strong this cycle too.

Turtlejd- to you too! Like I said to Intro/Extro, I really like the C25k program! I'm jealous that you are a swimmer. I suck at swimming! I'm thinking about signing up for lessons so that I can improve. I love being in a pool and I can "swim," but if I can't even swim a lap. I'd like to be a better swimmer so that I can swim when I get pregnant again.

Me- Blah, blah, CD7, blah blah. I am going to see if my parents can babysit for us either next Friday or Saturday so that we can go on a date night. It's been way too long since our last date night. That'll also be CD14 or 15, which could be pretty good pre-O timing for us. Oh, and I have my acupuncture appt next Friday, so maybe it'll help encourage me to O if it's about that time. It's nice to have something to look forward to!

Bump! March thread everybody!

I think I might be having a little implantation spotting. I hope that's what it is. 9dpo, so that's good timing. My LPs are usually 13-14 days, so it shouldn't be AF yet. Feeling a teeny bit crampy also.

So...random conversation while we wait together - how many kids do you guys have and where in your 30s are you? I'm 32 with a 28 month old DD. She was conceived "on the first try" and ended up being born a week late, on my birthday. If we did conceive this cycle the baby could be born on our birthday again, if it came early. Wouldn't that be crazy?
Thanks for the bump, Frisbee, and I hope that is implantation spotting! Wooohoo!

I have 1 son, a 22 month old. He was also concieved on the first try. I was 27 when I got pregnant last time (but I turned 28 4 days after I tested), and I'm 30 now. That would be really neat if you, your DD and baby #2 all shared a birthday!

Frisbee- It's totally implantation bleeding! I can tell!

I'm 32 and have a 5 yr old DD & a 23 month old DS. After DS was born, DP was ready to be done. I was a little sad because I'd wanted a bigger family than I'd grown up with (2 kids), but I was okay with it. I WOH and we don't have family around so childcare is ALWAYS an issue. I also figured that we have such awesome kids (one of each) and I really didn't NEED more. Then, out of the blue, we were watching 'Brothers & Sisters' (I kid you not) and Jason looked at me and said "I want us to have a big family....let's get pregnant again!" I wasn't going to object! Soooo...here we are! Both kids took 3-4 months to conceive. That would put us right around DD's birthday, so I'd like it to happen sooner this time!

Frisbee-yes, it's implantation bleeding!

milosmamma- our kiddos are similar in age!

I have a 5 year old DD (who just turned 5 on Tuesday) and a 21 month old DS. DD was conceived on the first try. We started trying for #2 after DD was 2yo and got pregnant right away. I miscarried about 6 weeks and then we got pregnant immediately afterwards and miscarried around 11 weeks. We decided to take a break from ttc and then lo and behold, I was pregnant with my rainbow baby, DS.

We were planning on having 2, we have our girl and boy, but when DS was around 4 months I got this crazy baby fever that I've had ever since. I kept thinking it would go away. I started to feel like I was going insane because whenever I looked at my kids I felt like there was one missing. DH is happy with our two and didn't want to have a third. Last month, we had a well timed "accident" and we thought I was pregnant. I also had a well timed cold of some sort that made me nauseous, throw up, have random back pain and completely exhausted. It hit right around 9dpo and we were absolutely convinced I was pregnant. I was so upset when I got my period. We were kinda excited about our little surprise so here we are trying for #3! I'm hoping it happens quickly like my 4 other pregnancies, but we'll see. I'm also freaked out about another mc and I'm a little scared about having a 3rd since we live in a small 2 bedroom house and I drive a Honda Civic, but we'll take everything in stride.

ETA- I turned 34 in January so if we conceive this cycle or next cycle I'll have just made it to deliver before reaching "advanced maternal age."

I'm 33 with 6 kids ages 16, 14, 10, 7, 5, & 3. I will always want more, til I'm not physically able to have anymore. We're not religious, we just like kids. Most people think we're nuts, but I don't care.

As for my cycle, I'm CD6 today, not much new. AF is just about gone, cramps are gone, and I have 2 days of Clomid left. I got shorted 1 pill though . Hope that doesn't matter much.

Can't report much on cd 7, so I answer questions! I am 33, I will be 34 next month. I have a dd who will be 10 on 3/16, ds 8, ds 4, ds 3, and ds 16 months. I have a very full life, but would love to have 1 more. I have also had 1 m/c and 1 chemical pregnancy along the way. I have been pregnant for (or very near to) everyone's first birthday actually. Dh and I have been together 13 years and married for 7. He was 36 and I was 20 when we met . It just works! He's the love of my life, my "soul mate" if you will. And we have produced 5 little loves beautifully together. (ok, so we have had fertility treatment for a few, and spent months on bed rest with several pregnancies, but the end result is great)

Sorry I have been bad at personals, I tend to not be here as much at the begining of my cycle. Also my dh was away for business for the whole week and I get pretty busy here by myself, as you might imagine!

So many of us are at the same point in our cycle! Next weekend this thread is going to be QUIET! Or maybe we'll be sneaking on to give activity reports.

Turtlejd- not only are our kids similar ages, but we seem to have similar stories! Funny!
How interesting to hear everyone's stories! Milosmomma, I hear you on the childcare front. DH and I both WOH and we are lucky to have found a very small, flexible, affordable daycare near our house, but our nearest family is 5 hours away, so we don't really have much backup, although we do have 2 neighbors with 3 kids each who are able to step in in a pinch if needed. Interesting that we have 2 mamas on here who are TTC #6 and #7 respectively. Did you guys always know you wanted a big family, or is it something that just happened?

Turtlejd, I hear you on the baby fever. It's weird, both with my DD and now I went from not really wanting a baby (or another baby) to being completely swept up in it over just a matter of months. Don't get me wrong, she is the love of my life, but until a couple months ago I felt so overwhelmed when I thought about going through the pregnancy and birth and nursing and sleep deprivation and early toddlerhood all over again, even though intellectually I felt that I wanted 2 kids. DH was pretty nervous about going through it again too. And then suddenly something shifted and I just felt like I not only could do it again, but I wanted to! Today I was at a meeting and someone had brought their 8 month old baby and I just felt this wave of longing to have a snuggly baby again.

AFM... still a little brown spotting. Does implantation spotting happen during implantation or a few days after? Internet sources seem to suggest you should test 2 to 3 days after implantation, but I think I'm going to test tomorrow morning anyway. That would be 11dpo.

ps. One of my friends just had a water birth (she lives in England) and I think that is the coolest thing ever.

It just happened, I guess . Didn't really decide on a specific number, and we won't either, although 8 sounds really nice. None were "planned", and I'm still trying to wrap my head around #5 - she just kinda slid right in & made herself to home without a fuss. I guess I was just so happy she was a girl, as #4 was our first girl, and I wanted her to have a sister.

I'd love to have a water birth someday too.

So the brown spotting turned into pink spotting yesterday evening, then cramps all night. I had a dream that AF showed up and went through all the emotions of that. Then I had a dream that I got a BFP. At 6:30 I took my temp and it was still high, so then I went to the bathroom and tested and voila...BFP!!!!!! I can't believe it! I'm 11 dpo. No symptoms so far aside from the spotting and all the cramping last night. And DH has smelled like onions for two days.

I'm going to retest tomorrow with more FMU.

Congrats Frisbee!

I had a feeling you were preggers.

I know it's early in many of your cycles but I am rooting for us all!!!

AFM So far my first cycle using the CBEFM is not telling me anything I didnt already know. I am getting "high" readings right now at 14 DPO which is about right since I O around CD 16/17. I think I spent alot of money to know what I already did. I am enjoying how stress free this not temping as much thing is though.

Bottom line this thing would be great for ladies that have an unpredictable O.

Congratulations Frisbee !!

Thanks guys! Still keeping my fingers crossed. Had a little more red spotting today and I hope that isn't a bad thing. Maybe this eggie is just really burrowing in. I have felt a little crampy on the left side mostly, so it would be interesting to see if that's where implantation happened. When I was preg with DD I had a tiny bit of red spotting when I was about 6 weeks pregnant, but not as much as this. It's still really early, so we'll just have to wait and see if this one sticks. I'm going to test again this afternoon and see if I get the same result. (test pee this morning was really concentrated and line was pretty faint but even DH could see it.)

Good luck everyone and keep your fingers crossed for me.

Congrats Frisbee!! Keeping my fingers crossed for you too!

AFM I'm going to say I'm about 9 dpo and trying to wait until Friday morning to test. AF is due around Thurs. I had so many bfn last month that it was so depressing. But we'll see if I can wait that long. I'm working Tues, Weds and Thurs so I figure it would be too crazy for me in the morning to test. And I don't think I could deal with either result first thing in my crazy mornings when I have to work. I might cave and test after work one day though.

Last night I had a dream that I had a new weird FRER that had about 9 different results on it and an "official" result. All had 2 lines on it except for one and then there was the official result that said negative. I have no idea how that all fit on one stick.

As for symptoms, I now have a stuffy/runny nose (which very well may be a cold), and I've had this weird twinging thing going on on my left side since around when I O'ed. Sensitive boobs off and on, but DS is also self weaning, so that might be it. Though we've been down to 0-1 nursing sessions a day for awhile.

Good luck turtlejd! Keeping my fingers crossed for you too!

Second test this afternoon had a faint line again and the spotting seems to have stopped for now. Whew.
