Suedecloth?

I was just reading over on the diapering forum about suedecloth - now I want to try it! Does anyone have any experience with working with it? Is the joann's quality okay? Would you use it with only pocket dipes or as a top for a doubler or the whole inner of a diaper? Thanks!

I'd like to know too!

It can be used pretty much the same as micro. If you buy it at Joann's you want to make sure you know what you're buying. They have micro suede which looks and feels like real suede and they have Alova suede cloth that looks and feels like a thicker version of poly pajama flannel. The Alova Suedecloth is what you want, the other doesn't work :LOL

Don't know much about buying suede cloth. I bought a few pockets from one of the Wahm here. All using suedecloth. I noticed that they attract lints differently. One of them (light grey) don't have lint AT ALL, but the other all get some lint after wash. They also feel a little different.

Did you notice when Kerrie originally posted the question? It always cracks me when some post was finally answered a month (or longer) later.

I LOVE my suedecloth. It doesn't pill like micro does (so stays new looking longer) and is not prone to repelling like micro can be. I have noticed, though, that it does attract lint differently, like the pp mentioned. My black gets linty really bad if I wash it with certain diapers. But other than that, it is AWESOME stuff.

And yes, you can get it at JoAnn's, however ours only has 3 colors left right now, tan, brown, and rust. Very nice fall colors, though. And you want to make sure you get the Alova brand, not the microsuede.

I love suedecloth!! I am always stalking Joann Fabrics to see when the Avolnea suedecloth goes on sale!! I've used it as the top layer in doublers and as the stay dry layer in AIOs. I've used it in a couple of fitteds as well. I have soem FBs and Wonderoos for night for ds; I like the look of the Wonderoos better because the fleece in the FBs gets so pilly after being washed, but the suedecloth in the Wonderoos still looks brand new, even after tons of washing!

You can also get suedecloth for diapers from some Yahoo coops. I went to Yahoo and searched their groups for diaper sewing supplies. The people on the lists are usually really helpful, too.
