Hi I started a new thread for the month!

Maybe we should keep track of who's taking Maca and we can keep track of all the BFPs.

If you want to let me know your age, # months TTCing and # months TTCing with Maca, that would be awesome and I'll update the front page.

Good luck ladies!

Awesome, thanks for doing this!
I'm 42, bfing a 14 month old a LOT
TTC for 8 cycles,
Started cd 1 of this cycle (2/9) with maca, and I'm in the 2ww.....
My o date has moved up by 2 days, to cd 15, which I am thrilled with! And my lp temps seem more stable to me. Now if I can just have a decent lp (or even a bfp) I'll sing maca's praises forever!

I'm not quite sure how to answer your questions. I've been TTC for 4 or 5 months, but I have not ovulated in that time (I am breastfeeding my 20 month old DD, so that's throwing my cycles off), and I am on CD103, so my body is kind of in a standstill. I have been using Maca for 3 days, LOL, so you can put me down as TTC with maca since Feb 2010. I'm hoping maca will help kick-start my body.

adding - I'm 32, and I am waiting to ovulate.

shy - age 40
ttc for a long time
started maca ~a month ago. dh started a few days ago.
halfway through 2ww!

one more report - I ate my maca powder with yougurt yesterday. It went down with no trouble at all - just 2-3 spoons of yougurt to disguise the taste of 1 spoon of maca.
this way i can give the maca capsules to dh. when they run out maybe i will mix maca in his soup or something ...

Thanks Finnegansmom for doing this thread!

I'm 34, ttc #2 since Dec 2009, with really long irregular, sometimes anov cycles, started Maca in January.

Feeling more positive this cycle than last time..: ) Can't wait to see some March BFPs

a word of caution:

"Be sure to not take the herb within 2-3 hours of bedtime as MACA 750™ can cause insomnia if taken too late."

Learned that the hard way .... yday I ate my maca powder around 6 pm. Slept at 11ish but woke up at 2:30 and never fell back asleep.

No more maca after noon for me!

If you want me to change anything let me know.

I'm 8 DPO and I'm losing my mind, I can't stop testing. I feel pregnant but it's probably because I just was pregnant last month....

YES! I learned this the hard way too..major insomnia. Now I am taking 2 capsules with breakfast and 2 with lunch and none after that! I was laying awake until 3 or even 4 am if i took it later. Yikes!

I'd love to be added too. I'm 26, TTC since May 09, but only 7 Cycles because I was out of the state for about a month and a half in fall. Started Maca last cycle (so 1 cycle on Maca). I'm on CD1 of my 8th cycle right now.
My chart is here:
http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/28382e

So far I'm going to attribute my earlier O date last month to the Maca, but not much else (an earlier O date is why I started taking it, so no complaining there!). I didn't necessarily have more of a sex drive. Maybe a little energy boost? And not much more EWCM that I noticed when I started taking EPO. I'm currently taking around 1200mg daily. My pills are 625mg so if I increase it would be up to over 1800 daily, which seems like a lot.

So far, all I'm really noticing is some increased CF and a slightly increased libido. Oh, yes, and some gas. I thought I had an energy burst the first day, but I don't really notice any more energy since then. In fact, I can take a capsule awfully late in the day and still sleep just fine. I wonder if it's doing anything for me. I'll keep trying and see what happens!

quick question ... do we continue taking the Maca through pregnancy? just wondering.

also I noticed that the studies on Maca seem to have been done only on men? http://altmedicine.about.com/od/herb...ide/a/maca.htm

does not talk about any benefits to women.

I've read since it's a food not an herb it is fine to take during pregnancy. If anything I would wean off of it. I'm not sure if I will stop if I ever get pregnant again. I will talk to my midwife about it. I know it's good for both men and women to take, a lot of people on here have their husband take it too. I'll have to look up for studies on women....

Sorry to crash, but I have a ? for you ladies taking Maca in capsule form. How much are you taking? Where did you purchase it? Do you have to start taking it on CD1 or can you start a bit later?

Thank you!!!!
