help me figure out the best way to clean this!

We have an old home, with old upright gas radiators. I have yet to find a thorough way to clean them, and frankly I am very surprised we don't have more issues with allergies and/or asthma because of the dust that accumulates in there.

Dp and I have discussed using an air compressor to blow it all out. But I am really hesitant of this method because of the inevitable extra mess it will create and who knows if it will even work!

Name it and I've probably tried it...any other mamas have these dumb radiators? How do YOU clean them??

ETA: I have a picture of the offensive radiator in my profile's "Other" album, if you can't visualize what I'm talking about!

There are some small attachments probably intended for computers. Look into that. A big NO to the compressed air. You don't know what all nasty is in the dust - lead paint, asbestos, what have you. Leaving it undisturbed would be safer than compressed air.

There are also microfiber "pipe cleaner-y" thing to clean mini blinds. But I'd look for some way to vacuum it up, hopefully into a hepa vacuum.
