I'm finally doing all the orders that I've been putting off, one of them is some tissue salts (darnit! I forgot to order the book!) but anyway, I'm going to give one of the tissue salt combos to DH, we'll see if it does anything for his fatigue.
Can you describe the body ache? That sounds really crazy but seriously.

eta: Honestly, I hurt in so many different ways, it'll probably help with ONE of them. Heh.

Yes, I am a librarian. And I love it. Sadly it looks like I will soon be giving it up. My dh took a job over a year and a half ago that he hated and caused him to never be home. So he found a new job but we have to move and there just aren't a lot of library jobs out there right now. Probably not really again anytime soon. So now I don't know what I am going to do. I have my MLS and 16 years of experience. Not it looks like I have to give it up for the good of the family. I am conflicted about it all.

Thanks for the Easter ideas JR. I am not so good with the food alternatives right now or recipes. I think we are starting to get dd2 stabilized a little bit and now I can start looking into it more. Of course sleep would help.

She actually has slept the last 3 nights and I wonder if it is because of that spray stuff I mentioned a while back. But since she is sleeping in bed with us as we are off visiting I don't get any sleep - I keep looking to make sure she is safe. I can't wait to go home where her crib is. But then maybe she has been sleeping better because she is co-sleeping. Ugghhh.

Body aches due to resettling of metals--the headache I got after I got my amalgams out, the headache and nausea I got after my first dose of DMSA (only the first dose, though, the rest of the round was fine), stuff like that. Not general body aches--hey, is your vitamin D still in a good range? Have you been continuing to take your vit D?

Modifilan helps a lot with acute pains due to mobilized metals. DS was really whiny, cranky, like that after his first round of ALA, but once I got some extra modifilan and some vit C into him, he went back to his normal, happy self.

Wish I could say it'll help your achiness, but I don't think so.

How are you on sulfur foods? Weren't you achy when your diet went accidentally low sulfur?

Not sure about vitamin D.

I know it helps with mobilized metals. I'm wondering if I'm not getting a whole lot more mercury from my fillings than I thought.

I'm ok with sulfur foods and taking 1g MSM 2x/day. I'm wondering if the limiting factor there might not be niacin now.
So much crap. I'm so tired of hurting.

Remind me, does vit C help, not help, you don't need much each day?

I haven't tried in a while. The one C I have has bioflavanoids to which we (ND and I) suspect I react. He thinks I need way more than the 2 grams it takes for me to get GI distress with it. The other makes my stomach sour and nauseated if I take very much, which is a common reaction to C for me. I've been waiting to finish my (huge) bottle of it before trying a new one.

Nope. Every legume trial has failed so far, so I've pretty much given up.

Ok- DD has been snotty for a week now, which is really unusual. The few times that she's been sick in her life it's been like one day (literally, ONE) of runny nose, sometimes a little warm- never a major fever. That's how this one started, but it's just not going away! Now I'm starting to worry that it's something environmental (please, please, please, NO environmental allergies...) Or is this normal for a toddler to have a really runny nose for a week+?
Most illnesses in toddlers are snottiness for a week or more. I don't know if that's what's going on with you, but if you were anyone else in H&H and were worried about your snotty toddler, without anything else strange going on, I'd say it's fine.

Could it just be a progression toward normal illnesses? From never getting sick to occasional to getting more normal-length?
omg... I signed up for the facebook babysteals deal (I'm not sure why... not like I have any money to buy this crap ), and I just have to rant about today's "deal."

Here is the answer for all you mamas with eczema babies: **just remembered I'm not allowed to link to a site to bitch about it... you'll have to google babysteals** (the link will only show this product [Halo Technical System] this morning or until it sells out, just in case someone is reading this thread tomorrow and is really confused )

So... if your baby has eczema or skin rashes, as "more than half of all infants" do, don't bother trying an elimination diet. Instead, dress them head to toe in 100% polyester. ew.

Phew. That makes me feel better.

That's bizarre, Jessica.

Anyone have any ideas of foods that I should try to make dairy, gluten, soy, corn free? DH wants me to have more recipes in my book... I'm still trying to make all the ones I already have and take pictures of them, but I want something new and exciting.

Vinegar has been giving me heartburn. Is that normal or odd - it's either white balsamic or red wine vinegar, those are the only ones we use. It's okay baked in something. But salad dressing or used in regular cooking? Forget it.

Kathy - do you have a few different kinds of breads? a soft sandwich bread, a french type bread for dipping, popovers, biscuits. It would be nice to have a few different options for our different needs. I haven't found a quick biscuit I like.

How about a creamy kind of soup? Even if it is not the same as a cream of . . . soup, it is nice to have a change in flavors. We use pureed cauliflower and nutritional yeast for cream. I know coconut milk is an option, but that's not an option for us and coconut milk can change the tone of a soup.

Do you have a few breakfast ideas? how about your hash?

Anything with avocado in it? A recipe that is not a guac recipe would be a great way to get healthy fats. Sometimes I feel stuck with avocado. Although we do enjoy putting olive oil, balsamic vinegar and pink salt on slices, or a safe soy sauce and sesame oil.

Still no whoMe.

I'm idea-less atm, Kathy. Also seemingly a little brain-dead.

I want fried mushrooms. And a Pizza Pop. Which you guys don't even have in the US, never mind food restrictions.

going to make coffee and hope for sanity.

I have sandwich bread and popovers. Still working on the french bread recipe. Haven't made a biscuit that I like yet unfortunately.

I have a cream of butternut squash soup (there's only a little coconut milk at the end, if you want it creamier; I've done it both ways). I only have that and mini meatball soup as my "soups"... maybe I need another one.

buckwheat waffles, bacon-sweet potato hash, crustless quiche, donut holes, cranberry muffins, potato pancakes.

We put it on taco salad, tacos, and I make guacamole. That's about it. I wonder what else I could stick it in... I have 5 of them. I could experiment.

Just went to chiropractor. She says I should go 3x/week for 4 weeks and see if it helps. I did 2-3 years of that before and it didn't help. She says it's different though when she adjusted me, it felt the same. I'm feeling depressed (maybe it's just the weather) that nothing seems to be getting better, and now seems to be getting worse. My thumb hurts all the time (have no idea why), my fingers are swelling enough that my rings are making dents, I'm getting more heartburn (vinegar, and sometimes tomato). And my back has been horrible.

Kathy, can you resurrect your thread that's just about you? Something seems to be changing now, and not in a good way.

You don't have a safe multivit, do you? I think mine's helped me tread water, even when I'm not making progress.

Did you do the dmsa challenge through the osteo? When will you get results (if you did it)?

If you decided against doing it, can you spring for the plain Hair Elements hair test? It may give you some guidance as to what's going on.

JR--yeah, now I remember you and vit C. Hmm.... you've got a lot of stresses now, it's hard to figure out what's what and where. If you think niacin is involved, will it be in one of the things you're ordering? Do you have an All About Me thread somewhere? Maybe a re-evaluaton of your supps there? If you want to chat things out.

I should be getting the kids outside, time to run in the sun and do some yard work. TX gets intense sun all summer, about mid-April to mid-Sept, and since DH has the good genes (actually in quite a few ways) the kids don't burn, so last year I stuck them outside for long stretches and they browned up some and made tons of D, and I think the plan is the same this year. Plus, hey, our yard really needs help, that hard freeze killed almost everything.

Funny, I was just updating it when you posted this.
My brothers get that gorgeous bronze of Native Americans. I just burn and burn and burn.

I haven't done the dmsa metals test yet because I was waiting for my back to get better, since the thought was that the dmsa might make my back worse. Not sure it can get any worse though, so maybe I should just do it. I'll look at my thread. I don't have a multivitamin. I take the Pure Encapsulations anti-inflammatory, Vitamin D (5000iu) and Mg. I stopped taking the K/Calcium/D, wondering if that was making my back worse since it's the same time frame as my back getting worse.

I'm ready to build an ark here.

My mother sent me an article from the paper. Pizzeria Uno (not sure where else it is, but I know it's in the Northeast at least) has a new gluten-free menu that includes pizza, steak, and chicken, for those of you lucky enough to be only gluten free (that's not meant to be snarky, it's just sort of how I'm seeing it at the moment).

And since I'm whining, I can't find my calendar and I've looked everywhere. I'm lost without it. Wah. Wah. Wah.
