Showering - Page 2

I have done the bouncy chair and exersaucer in the bathroom but now that ds is mobile I just put a bunch of toys in there and put him on the floor - I peak out at him frequently and he's been fine

This here too. DD is into everything, so I put on cabinet locks. Our toilet is behind a door, but a toilet lock would work. I keep special bathroom only toys and books for her. We have a glass stall shower and DD stands there and makes faces at me.

When she was younger, it was the bouncy or wait until DH got home. She's just a little older than your LO and now I just take her in the shower with me or get up before she does and take it in the morning.

When my DD outgrew her bouncy chair I started putting her in her play pen with a few of her favorite toys. I use our ensuite shower and put her playpen in front of the door so we can see each other (I have a glass shower door). Most days she is happy to play in her play pen for awhile and if she starts fussing I call out to her. Sometimes she will even have to wait for me and cry for a minute or two. I think it's important for us to be able to take a shower and I know she is safe in her playpen.

As of late I bring DD (7.5mo) in with me. I will put a rag over the drain so water pools slightly for her to splash in (new favorite activity).
Though she does get cold sometimes, so I bring in a couple of extra rags and warm them up and set a warm one in her lap.

bringing her in with me would not work, since my muscles get really sore and i turn the water up hot - it would be too hot for her to be in safely. i usually either jump in while she is sleeping or wait till after she goes to bed (she starts out in PNP till about middle of hte night then comes in with us) and then get one. sometimes i can talk DH into watching her while i get a shower but usually by the time he gets home from work she is ready for bed, so that's not usually an option.

This is what I do also and it works fine. He is good at amusing himself. I have a glass shower door so keeping an eye on him is easy.

I try to jump in either right before or right after my husband's shower. That way, he is there getting ready for work or his shower and can keep an eye on him. When he's not home, I use the pack 'n play. I can roll it over to the bathroom doorway.

I have been taking showers with the baby, or dh is taking care of him, while I shower.

Dad takes care of the baby while I shower, and vice versa.

I do almost all of the above...
I take baths a couple times a week and bring baby in with me (careful though, babes are slippery - my partner waits and helps babe in and out of bath)
I use a bouncy chair next to the shower
I put babe in the crib and start the mobile
I hand baby to my partner and go take a shower

I've showered with DS since he was about a week old, he is now 12 months old. It works best for both of us.

I used a bouncy seat set outside the shower until he outgrew it. Now he plays in an exersaucer outside the shower. He only gets to play in the exersaucer when mommy/daddy need to shower or go to the bathroom, so he tends to really enjoy himself. It seems like he only fusses when I am washing my face and can't peek-a-boo for a minute or two.

Mine shower with me.

When they are little, little, I put the bouncy seat right outside the shower door (we have a free standing shower), lined with a towel. I shower with babe, then put the baby in the bouncy seat, cover with towel, and I hop back into the shower to wash and rinse my hair quickly. Babe stays happy in his warm, cozy towels until I dry off.

As soon as they sit up, they just sit at my feet. Or stand at my feet. Or walk around at my feet. LOL

I usually shower with both my 3.5 year old and my 19 month old, as well as my pregnant belly. And, it's just a standard smallish separate shower. We somehow make it work. Though the bigger I get, I hear, "get out, mama! We want to shower alone now!"

We use the swing in the bathroom and I keep the shower door open so she can see me.

For those with water slings...how long did you use one for, i.e. just for tiny babes or even older? Also I am wondering how you handle soap/shampoo and things like that getting into your LOs eyes? Thanks!
