I was watching a video on Youtube of a speaech given by Bill Gates on the whole global warning thing. He's talking about the need to lower the population rate. His suggestions for doing this are:

1. Vaccines

2. Health care

3. Reproductive health services

so is he actually saying that he knows vaccines lower populations?

The health care thing is for a different forum...but better vaccines will lower the population????

Because (assuming vaccines are safe, as Bill Gates most probably does), when a child is vaccinated, they are less likely to get a childhood illness, and less likely to die due to those illnesses. The more infant/child mortality is reduced, the fewer children per family one needs to have to make sure that some make it to adulthood. So, by making a population healthier, you are able to reduce family size.

Put another way, if the infant/child mortality rate is high, let's say it's 50% die before age 5, then parents will keep on having children because only half of them will live to age five (and even fewer may make it to adulthood).

I suppose that does make sense from a vaccine believer viewpoint. It was just scary when I heard it!

But there seems to be a problem with that thinking. If more live, then that will increase population rate because many people are having multiple kids not because they are playing "hope one of them lives" game but because there is no birth control available, there are cultural influences against women using it, there is no money for BC, etc. So instead of those later influences playing a role but child mortality high, instead, those influences will remain but child mortality will go down.

The whole notion that families have way too many kids in developing worlds because they hope some of them make it seems very dated to me. I know that was true when people were more agrarian but I find it hard to believe that the similar reasons for so many kids is true when one is trapped in a city. You don't need to be sure to have multiple kids to work the land when you are living in a garbage dump.

Seems pretty bizarre logic. There is no indication that if a developing country has more surviving children but no corresponding increase in quality of life and income, that the population goes down. Population only goes down in developing countries when a certain level of affluence has been achieved.

And thats why #3 is reproductive services - so that women can have control over their bodies and practice both safe sex & family planning. But you also have to have women believe that their children will survive to adulthood to keep them from having 10 kids just in an attempt to have 3 or 4 or 5 of them make it.

I was just reading about that in India. The women typically keep trying to have kids until they have at least 2 sons. Female infanticide is really high over there b/c of it.

I would say formula has a bigger impact on family size than estimated mortality rates influencing families to keep trying. Once formula becomes embedded in the culture, spacing and cultural norms (such as no sex during breastfeeding) fly out the window.

Something tells me this isn't the magic logic behind what he's saying.

I interpret what Bill Gates said as he knows that vaccines are so harmful that they kill a lot of people, thus lowering the population that way, i.e. (SIDS deaths, cancer deaths, autoimmune disease deaths, etc., for which a lot of the cases were really vaccine-induced deaths) I believe that he knows that vaccines cause millions of deaths.

I also think that Bill Gates knows that vaccines can cause reproductive sterilization. Polysorbate 80 is an ingredient used in some vaccines, such as the Gardasil vaccine and is used as a reproductive sterilization agent. It is being used in vaccines shipped to third world countries for population control.

I believe this scientist/ md has figured out what he means... It is called "Mercury, Autism and the Global Vaccine Agenda" Many of the vaccines given in the 3rd world (and perhaps here too?)contain sterilization ingredients (according to his research)

I am not the poster you asked this of, but there is ample evidence that sterilization components have been added to vaccines in third world countries, and I believe here now too with the H1N1 and all the miscarriages that happened immediately after. Here is a link to a page with many links

There was a nun working in the phillipines that attested to this fact also. the program was focusing on breeding age women only, to give them tetanus shots. No men, no children, they specifically targeted breeding age women. I believe david ayoub speaks of it in his video at the link above in my first post in this thread. Also there was a campaign in africa i believe that went door to door with a desire to vaccinate everyone in a one day campaign. it was because of fear of people refusing them after they saw the aftermath IMO. I have some good youtube links I will search through, they seem to be easiest for most to start their research.

I thought the focus on tetanus shots was to reduce neonatal tetanus? Because if it's not someone needs to tell those nice folks at pampers because they're clearly reducing their own market with their 'one pack one vaccine' campaign.

It's also worth noting that Polysorbate 80 is an emulsifier found in many foods. You get more from a scoop or Ben & Jerry's than you do from a shot. If it was actually possible to cause infertility via injection I'm sure the take up would be pretty high amongst those looking for permanent sterilisation - got to be easier than a tubal ligation or a vasectomy.

I think they would argue the safety of a substance injected is not equal to what it's effect is when consumed.
