Comparing pregnancies

My pregnancy with DD I hardly had any symptoms at all. Absolutely no nausea the whole pregnancy. I do remember headaches in the first tri, and I went off brocolli but that was about it. Didn;t have any other food aversions or cravings.

Now this pregnancy is so very different. I'm very nauseous but havnt thrown up yet. Think I will soon. Soooooooo tired and grumpy. Have gone off most food. Super hungry but nothing sounds good. No headaches.

I've had people telling me that maybe this one is a boy. Have your pregnancies with one sex been very different to pregnancy with the other sex?

This is my 3rd... the pregnancy is very similar to my DS... but I dont know what it is. But yes, DS and DD were VERY different... though not sure if it is because they were different genders or just how it is.

I also wonder if perhaps part of it may be that this is a different father...

I im interested to hear what everyone else has experienced too.
Im pregnant with #7, our 3rd girl, due 5/16.

With my boys I was sick as a dog for the 1st 20wks, couldnt stand the sight or smell of any food at all. I aslo had a lot of bad headaches at the beginning .After that point, it all disappeared, I got an appetite, ate well, and felt wonderful the rest of the pregnancy. My skin was fantastic, I had the "glow", my hair was so thick and curly and full of volume I felt like a goddess. I carried them all "high", all boobs and belly lol and all except one of them were late (3days late, 8days late, 14days late, and 6 days early). 2 of them were posterior. I gained 13lbs, 20lbs, 25lbs and 17lbs respectively.

With my girls I had slight nausea at times, but nothing compared to the boys. I never had a big appetite, it stayed about the same as when I wasnt preg, and health wise I felt fine. My skin acted up really bad with all 3 of them for the first trimester; made me feel like I was a teenager again. I absolutely hate my hair when im carrying a girl! It is dull, lifeless,no body and no volume. Ive also had trouble with my contacts fitting properly, and never had that with the boys. Ive usually had to switch back to my glasses for comfort. Havent had a problem with headaches with the girls, but definitely experience low blood sugar issues. I've carried all the girls "low" and also been all boob and belly. Both of them were early (7days and 1 day) and neither one was posterior. With them i gained 23lbs and 20lbs, 5lbs so far with the one still cookin'.

Melly24, I could have written your post! I was the same when pregnant with my son and this pregnancy is *very* different. I do have a feeling that it's going to be a girl but I'm not sure if gender would be the cause or if, like a pp said, that's just the way it is. It'll be interesting to find out (when he/she is born!)

With my first DS I hardly had any symptoms at all. I never felt sick or anything. With this pregnancy I have been really sick every day and my boobs have been really sore I have had headaches too. With my first pregnancy I had great skin and a pregnancy glow and this time I'm breaking out all over my face. My two pregnancies have been so different that I was convinced this was a girl. I just found out at my 20 week ultrasound that I'm having another boy! I can't believe how different this has been compared to being pregnant with my first DS.

My mom said that her first two pregnancies were so different (she had a girl first) that she was convinced my sister was a boy- they were really shocked on the day my sister was born

Each of my subsequent pregnancies has been harder than the last- each more severe in terms of symptoms than the previous. Didn't matter the sex of the babies.

I'm on my third pregnancy, second girl. My first pregnancy (my daughter) was terrible. I had constant nausea, but not a ton of vomiting for the first 4 months. It was a painful, uncomfortable pregnancy, I had SPD throughout and carpal tunnel for the last 3 months.

My second pregnancy (my son) was amazing. I did have morning sickness for about 2 months, not a lot of nausea, but a lot of vomiting if that makes sense. I'd feel nauseated, I'd throw up, then I'd feel absolutely great until the next go round. None of the queasy feelings I had in my first pregnancy. I was free of any SPD pain, I had no carpal tunnel problems. It was really pretty fantastic.

This pregnancy (ultrasound says girl) started out much easier, but has turned a bit rough. I didn't have a lot of morning sickness, probably about a month, but it was the constantly queasy type I had with my daughter. I've been mostly free of the SPD, but my hips and pelvis are a bit more sore than they were with my son. I've also had a reoccurence of the carpal tunnel in the last few weeks (I'm about 36.5 weeks right now).

So yeah, for me there seems to have been a bit of a gender difference. My two girl pregnancies have had some similar symptoms that my boy pregnancy didn't share. But I haven't really had enough babies (and certainly don't plan on having enough) to really tell for sure.
