Is this normal? DD has stopped nursing during the day....

She is only 14 mos. old This started about 1-2 months ago, when my period returned. She just has no interest in nursing during the day.

I'm not super upset about it, and she does take other liquids, but she just isn't interested, even if I offer. Sometimes I can get her to nurse just before bedtime, but even then she fights it. She nurses once or twice during the night.

Is it possible to just keep feeding her the once or twice at night? I was hoping to have those be the first nursing sessions to go . I'm not interested in CLW, but was hoping to nurse her a little longer than this. Is anyone else out there doing this?!

I think it can be a normal phase. This is often when mothers say 'my child weaned herself' because the child gets so distracted during the day and doesn't want to nurse. I would keep offering and aim for quite times during the day when she is less distractable.

I'd just keep offering.

My DD (13.5mos) is doing the same thing. She usually nurses to sleep, a couple of times during the night, and when we wake up in the morning. I have been offering her a few times throughout the day, and she'll usually at least take me up on it when it's time for a nap.

I think it's pretty normal for them to be so busy during the day they just don't want to take they time out for nursing, especially when they're learning new skills!
Around 16 or 17 months my DD went to just nursing twice a day, when she woke up in the morning and when she woke up from nap. That was it unless she woke during the night for a little then too, and we were able to maintain supply and just nurse during those times until I started WW and my milk dried up.
