Bilibo??

So, in my hunt for toys for my 3 yr old son's b-day, I ran across bilibo... it seems to get good reviews, but part of me is just kinda skeptical. Do your kids really like it? Is it worth $25?? Do I need to get two to make it really fun??

I wondered this myself yesterday when looking for a gift for my nephew. I ended up getting something different. I'll be interested to see responses.

We had one, and the kids did play with it, but not enough to justify keeping it around. I think if you had a Bilibo (or better yet, several) and very few other toys, your kids would end up using it in a lot of fun ways and it could be worth it, but if you have a houseful of other toys, this is not likely to be one of the favorites.

Totally overrated. My kids occasionally store toys in it, but it's uncomfortable and a waste of money and space.

We have one, I got it a while ago, and at 2.5 ds is just now interested in it - he sits in it, spins, rocks, jumps off it, and puts things in it. It also is a pretty stable step-stool.

His friends (mostly older than him 2-6yrs old) all seem to play with it when they come over - we dont have a whole lot of toys but this one is popular

MIL gave us one for Christmas. And it was wrapped to look just like it. She kept saying we'd know what it was from the wrapping. I'd never heard of it, so I could never guess, including after it was opened. My opinion is that it's overrated and takes up a lot of room.

I got one for our Easter basket this year. At the store, 3.5 yo DS used it as a step stool and to fill with toys, and 7 month old DS liked to be rocked and spun in it. I hope it will be a fun toy. I would have loved to spin in it when I was little.

I was curious about this too. It's something I may pick up but I've been resisting it so far It seems like a cute concept though.

I've looked at this and thought it was just a glorified mixing bowl, which I already have on hand for free.

When I was a teen, I went to a boarding school and we would take the giant metal mixing bowls from the kitchen and spin on them and occasionally use them as sleds.

DS got one for his 2nd birthday when we were based in the UK. Its OK, nothing special. I don't think it takes up too much room - He sits in it, stands on it and uses it to pour or hold stuff. He did slide in the snow with it, earlier this year as we don't have a sledge. Maybe with a bunch of kids and multiple bilibos, it would be more fun, but for an only it just gets used as above.

My initial thought when I saw this post was that someone was asking about Bilbao where we are now based.

I got one for my daycare and ended up buying another because it was used so much.. It gets used for spinning, sitting in, stepping on, baby doll cribs ect.. I don't keep a ton f toys out at once, so it makesit more desirable..

We have one big and one little one... there were two small ones, but one vanished.

DD uses the little one as a bath toy. Sometimes she plays with the big one on the deck - I fill it with water and/or bubbles. Or we keep toys in it. It's a cool concept, but i don't think it's the best toy ever.

Ours doesn't get used as much as I would like. DS is 2.5, and we've had it for a long time. Maybe in the future.

It does go in and out of rotation.

We got one for DD when she was about 1.5 yo. She's 3 now, and still plays with it.

I like that it can really be played with in many ways... She stands on it, she jumps off it, she sits in it, she carries toys in it, she calls it a turtle, we spin her in it, etc. Just like any toy, sometimes it's a hit and other days it's not.

It's very sturdy too. I think I could probably stand on it.

That are NOT a good combination with wood floors. They get scratched and do terrible things to the finish. On carpet or outside, much more fun.

DS uses it sometimes at almost 3 years old. It'll head outside this summer and we'll see what happens.

This has been our experience. He'll put toys in it sometimes, but that is the extent of the use it gets. And it takes up quite a bit of space in the toy box.
