Should I go to chiro before ECV?

I'm waiting for my chiropractor to call me back on this, but thought I'd ask here as well.

My baby turned again and is now frank breech at 38 weeks. I have a chiro appt for webster at lunchtime, and moxibustion in the evening. I just got a phone call that my midwife got the OB to commit to doing the external cephalic version this afternoon. I am *not* moving the ECV-- too difficult to schedule and time is running out.

Should I keep the chiro appt (it is my first)? Will it help the ECV? Should I keep the moxibustion appt in the evening too? Wil this be too much stimulation for the baby to do all three today?

Thanks!

I would definitely go to the chiro appointment. Ds#2 was transverse at 37 weeks and would have been a scheduled c-section if I'd had the ob I had with ds#1. I had prenatal chiro during half that pg, and he turned head-down spontaneously at 38 weeks. I've had chiro the entire pg this time, and am amazed at the difference. I wouldn't even listen to an ob about positioning anymore, unless I'm in active labor. My experience has dramatically changed how I view their experience. Most ob's I've known don't even understand what chiropractic care is at all, much less prenatal chiro care!

personally, i would not do the ECV yet.. but thats just me, since you are going to do it, i would def. keep the chiro appt that will probably help loosen things up to give baby more room.. since it is 4pm now here you probably have already done what you're going to do one way or the other, so good luck! i hope things worked!

well I kept the chiro appt and the ECV was quick and easy! Now I just hope the baby stays head down. I'm under midwife care, so the OB was not my regular care provider, but he is *the* person to go to for ECV and is very low intervention himself and I really trust him.

I'm going back to the chiro next week as well-- wish I had done it sooner.

Yeah I skipped the moxa last night- it was just too late and i think it would've been too much change in one day.
