For all you boiling experts... hemp? wool?? PUL???

... I have a BUNCH of boiling questions.

I have some new hemp diapers I want to boil to prep. Is this okay to do? Will it reduce the number of times they need to be washed? How long do I boil for? I only have a 6 qt pot, does that matter?

Also, I have a new Disana wool cover. I ordered it too big on purpose so I can felt it. I've heard of boiled wool. Can I boil it? Will it ruin the elasticized cuffs? If I just wash it I'll have to wash it by hand and won't be able to dry it (DH does NOT want to try felting at the laundromat. He remembers keenly my late angora sweater ). Will it still work?

PUL??? I've heard hot temps reseal the PUL. I also could swear I saw a post on here once (can't find it now) where someone talked about boiling their PUL. Can you really do that?

Yes you can boil them and it should reduce the amount of hot washes you need. I would boil for 15 minutes. You can use the 6qt pot just keep a close eye on it because with cloth in there they boil over easily

You probably can, but I don't think it is needed, the dryer will reseal the pull and I could be wrong, but I don't think the heat of boiling is good for the elastic.

As for your wool cover, I don't know I'm not a huge wool fan, but I'm sure someone will be around to answer for you.

I would be afraid to boil my wool. My SIL (being helpful) ran DD's wool cover through a hot wash and then the dryer, that was enough to felt it down a size or two.
