Running the O'Dingo Way -- Dingos Run Into March like Lionesses! - Page 55

Ugh Nemesis, I remember days like those, I hope something helps!

JayGee - I hope you find your mojo waiting for you in Lane 1! Does your pool have a tether? You might get a kick out of it, I thought it was pretty funny.

Jo - Dang mama! Whew! You go with those hottie jeans! There will be no stopping you now!

So Alison slept in her own bed all. night. long. And what did I do with all my uninterrupted sleep? I dreamt that Obama and Oprah were hiring me to work at Lowes but when I explained that I wouldn't be there the first Sunday because I'm going to the U2 concert they got pissed and told me to forget the whole deal.

I never did my run yesterday. And I don't know if I have the moxie to put it on today's schedule either. How bad is that with the Half in 10 days?

Good morning!

Nemesis--I'm so sorry about the sinuses! I had a nasty sinus infection in February, and it just knocked me flat like I wouldn't have believed. I hope you get better quickly.

Hooray for new baby goats! I can't wait to see pictures.

JayGee--I hope the swimming goes well and you can eventually find a way to run again. I was also told years ago that I shouldn't run anymore; my knees were too trashed to handle it. But here I am, back again, learning to back off and rest when my body needs it.

Nic--Granola sounds awesome!

I've been wimpy for the past few days. We're getting record rainfall and I haven't wanted to run in this mess. The main road that our road empties out onto is completely closed--the pond we're near flooded and the water buckled the culvert under the road, so it's going to need to be rebuilt. Huge pain. People are being evacuated; a bunch of my friends' basements are flooded.... we're lucky to be on high-ish ground and not affected much, aside from the detour around the road. But no running. Tomorrow, I think, is supposed to be dry, so I'm determined to get out. I'm spending lots of time on leg exercises, sit-ups, and the 100 push-up program, hoping I'll be super-strong when I get back on the road again.

Have a nice day!

Skipping my run today to go to the zoo. I will have to run Thur-Fri-Sat. to keep up my milage. I have come so far I am afraid of slipping into old patterns.

JayGee--I really feel for you.

Lala- I hope you stay high and dry!

I just finished 30 day shred, which was brutal because I did a really hard arm workout yesterday! But I'm glad I did it. I subbed knee-to-elbow moves ala Richard Simmons for the million jumping jacks and that felt better. I was surprised at how much that actually used my abs and back muscles! I finished the whole workout today, and have done a strength video each day this week so far. Hope I can keep it up!

Modmom- have fun at the zoo!

reporting 1:10 on the trainer last night. It was the 2nd day of ugly rain, so I rented New Moon and got my indoor workout done. That movie is crap. That book was crap too, so my expectations weren't high. However, it was something to watch. After my workout I turned it off, not bothering with the whole thing.

Planning 1:15 or so today on the spin bike at the gym. By tomorrow it's supposed to be nice again, so i'm looking forward to outside exercise again.

OMG I am laughing my rear off here. I'm envisioning your words in the context of the bad dh month that happens every now and again. Like dh is getting ready to do something stupid and he thinks and then realizes like a conscience that we're all over.

Just typed a nice long response, full of personals, hit backspace to delete a sentence, and..............

Anyhoo....Jaygee, a pox on your insurance company and lots of good vibes that you find your swimming mojo and some peace with the situation.

Plady, get your ass out there. I was thinking yesterday that I was supposed to be less than two weeks out from my first half. My broken self needs to live vicariously through you!

The monsoon seems to have stopped temporarily, so I'm going to go out and test the new shoes (and my leg) on the roads. Fingers crossed!

I got a new suit for more laps tomorrow. This one not big enough to fall off unlike the old one. I had to drive 60 miles to get it yet I made it home by noon. It is totally random that it fit and I found it accidentally where it didn't belong and it was 50% off. and

One good run and see what I do?

DocJen, can you put me down for the Monkey Run 5k?

(it was either that or register for the RnR half in June. I figured that was jumping the gun a bit)

Memiles - Shoot! I knew I should have checked in here before joining dh at the thrift store! I appreciate the push, I think I blew my window though. But I am swimming and doing TKD later fwiw.
I'm eyeing that R&R in Seattle too though.

Poppy and Mel - That's so cool! Internation Day of the Dingo! Woot Woot!

Mommajb - I love that it's all falling into place!

RM - :

So I need Easter present advice: My cousin and her two boys are coming to visit for Easter and she loves to give lots of presents. Some big, some little but just lots. I can get into giving presents but to me her level of giftiness is way overboard. For my dds I got them both a bunch of books from the thrift store, a little rabbit toy/figurine for each of them (used) and we're also getting two new Singstar games for all of us to play together. My cousins boys are 11 and 14 and honestly have every game system ever invented with no restrictions on game ratings, they don't seem to have any other interests. Other than overnighting video games here for them (which I'm not inclined to do and which they'd likely have already anyway) I cannot think of a single thing they'd be pleased to receive. But I can't not give them something. Oh, and they both take pride in not having a sweet tooth, they really don't. What to do? Any ideas?

I have no batteries for my camera. I'll get on it one of these days.

I this

okay, I just came here to laugh. And to support. I'm not really running these days, at least not in any way that can be calculated. It will happen.

((((Jay Gee)))) Take it easy. It will happen again. I'm so sorry!

Grnmtnmama, I your Apology Song. Will you please share more? Like how did it get started? I can hear the Pomp song in my head, but I can't make the words fit. We have a serious apology problem and a little levity would go a long way not to mention changing the rote words: I'm sorry.

RM,

At that age, I'd consider iTunes gift cards if I knew they had iPods. They can get music, tv shows or music, and it's not "stuff" that they don't need.

RR: 5mi on the TM + weights.

More to share, but too busy!

I made it to the pool this morning and swam for an hour. I didn't count laps or anything, and just did what I felt like (some freestyle, some kicking, some breaststroke, some backstroke). It felt slow, but good. I tried a few kick sets with my zoomers (short flippers), but that really aggravated my leg, so I stopped. Tomorrow, I have plans to walk with a friend .

Would you believe that DH just spent TWO entire days cleaning the master bathroom. Every nook and cranny, he repainted all the trim, scoured the tub and shower, wiped every drawer and drawer slide, recaulked all the corners. The man is NUTS when it comes to cleaning . He is such a detail person, and will think to clean stuff that wouldn't even cross my mind (ie. the drawer slides). At least one room in the house looks great now!

I got to meet Poppy today!! It was great to finally meet a dingo and, for those of you who haven't met her yet, she's awesome! So funny and sweet, I could have sat and chatted for another hour ... but she had to go to work.

Thanks for meeting me!!! I know that business trips can be so full of people wanting to meet with you, take you places, talk your ear off... but I totally appreciate you taking the time out to meet with me! Just cool.

Yeah, a world-wide network of dingos, so watch out! I love it!

Yay, Lofty, another almost-mid-forties dingo!

JG, I'm so sorry to hear that prognosis. That totally sucks. I like your idea of using the time to get into swimming, though.

Plady, hmm... 11 & 14 year old boys, totally into electronic stuff (which we don't like to cater to ), sounds like my nephews. I usually get either books or sports clothing. It's impersonal, but maybe an itunes card?

Mommajb: on that swimming suit.

RM:

Alex: for missing your mom and dad.

I hope these rains let up for all of you in the NE.

Now DD has asked me if I'm 'almost done' for the fourth or fifth time, so I better get off the computer.

I'm so far behind in personals that I can't even wrap my mind around it right now. I had Zumba this morning, and my leg is definitely feeling better! Yay! I decided to not do the speedwork I was thinking of, and took the kids to the park with a friend, instead! Then, we took the big kids roller skating with the brownie troop. So, I got some extra stuff happening, too.

So, the big news is that DH just accepted a new job! He had two offers on the table, and took the one that is a lot less money, but infinitely more satisfying. This is really as close to his dream job as he is likely to get, so we are really trying to not think about the $$. Thing is, I think, in a year or two, it will all balance out, and he will have the money and the great job. At any rate, it is going to be such a relief for him to just be out of the hell hole that he has been in for the last 10 months!

I just did 20 minutes of power yoga.

Mel and Poppy - how fun!!

I am hoping soon REAL soon I get to meet a real live Dingo too!
