Dropping last nap

DS is 30 months {Yay!} and for awhile now we have been having sleep issues. He goes down for nap at 1 and wakes at 4. Than refuses to sleep again till 11!!! So starting Friday I didn't wake him like I usually do at 8, instead I let him wake on his own. He got up at 9. No Nap. Tried putting him down for bed at 8:30 and he fell asleep at 10. We did the same thing all weekend with slight improvement at bedtime. Monday he went to bed at 8 and was asleep in 10 minutes!!! Is it okay for him to not have a nap? He sleeps straight through the night and wakes at a resonable hour in the morning. Isn't cranky during the day. He does have quiet time where he is required to stay in bed and quietly read books or play with his soft toys. And he does. He dropped his other two naps earlier than all the books suggest...

MY DH is only 20 months but my friend has a child exactly the same age as yours and she had the exact same problem. YES YES YES... unfortunately it sounds like he is ready to drop his nap. Even though it sucks, I suppose it is better than him going to bed at 11 every night! I can't even imagine!

Quiet time in lieu of nap is an excellent idea.
