If you have a digital camera and computer you can take pictures of all of the fun stuff your kiddo does, upload the photos and show your significant other what you did all day.
Today was a really fun day and I caught dd doing neat stuff. Sometimes I feel a little bad that DH misses it all while he's working hard all day so that I can be a stay home mom. This is a free way to show him dd's day. My almost 2.5 year old is excited to show daddy all the pictures.
I was thinking...if you run a daycare you could do this for your clients. You could even send it through email while they are at work to brighten their day. But, I guess you would have to have permission to take pictures of their kid. Maybe it wouldn't work.
But you could do it for your own kid and send it to others' who are significant in their life while their at work.
