Moving (back) to seattle - tell me about homeschooling!

When we lived in Seattle we did not have kids. Now we have a 3yo and a 1yo, who we have been "homeschooling" thus far. So far I can only find info related to groups that are relgious homeschoolers in Seattle. Are there other groups? Are their homeschool days at local museums? Do kids have to submit a portfolio to the district?

I haven't lived in the Seattle area, just on the other side of the state, but WA is pretty relaxed when it comes to homeschooling. kids do not have to submit anything to anyone. there is testing, but it's should still be possible to opt-out of it (I never had to do it growing up).

There are lots of non-religious homeschoolers in Seattle. Check out WHO for general and legal questions, http://www.washhomeschool.org. Also, Examiner.com has a 2 good columns, Seattle Homeschooling and Seattle Homeschooling for Beginners with lots of local info and resources.
