Could she have waited until they got home and still had an accurate test?

no. it's not SOP to test at someones birthday party and they didn't need to dtd at that exact moment anymore than you store frozen sperm in your freezer ( it's actually stored in liquid nitrogen tank) like they showed in season 1. It's all made up for entertainment value.

i think she tested in the morning and had just gotten to the party?

I don't know how this works either, but I thought Julia was explaining this to Joel at the start of the show. She got him all riled up and then slammed on the breaks, on purpose. Maybe the idea is that he needs to save it all up until she's optimally fertile. Seemed pretty mean , though! orngbiggrin.gif

The ovulation tests turn positive when it detects an LH surge, which happens approx 48 hours before you ovulate. The writers making her say that she just tested and she is Oing NOW is pure literary license.

Yeah, I remember thinking "That's not how it works!"

Any thoughts on last nights episode? I felt bad for Crosby until he called the specialist the babysitter. Christine usually bugs me but last night my heart hurt for her when she went to the specialist (don't remember her name) close to tears because she helps Max so much.

My biggest impression from last night was all. the. yelling. Most weeks there's a fair amount of yelling going on, but oh man, I felt last night was over the top. I tuned most of it out.

I did feel for Christina last night too ... after the huge melt-down with Max and then going to the therapist, she got my sympathy. I think the whole debacle with Crosby was much too predictable. I know people often take one step forward and sometimes five back in the process of "growing up" but to have Crosby so easily fall back to square one after all the attempts at maturing, was a bit too much for me. I'm hoping next week is better because I really didn't enjoy last night's episode.

Honestly, I'd rather see Crosby with Gaby than with Jasmine, even though I don't condone what he did. Jasmine is just too high maintenance and controlling.

Agreed about Crosby and Gaby.  They're a cuter couple.  I loved Jasmine for the longest time then when her additude changed so did my love for her!

I agree. Yes, he was wrong, but Jasmine has been so controlling lately. And I adore Gaby. I personally have never met someone with Asperger's, but I cannot imagine being in her profession. I know that I could never have that job.

Sidney's little face when she wouldn't eat the lasagna or the seton was hysterical. And really - what's so wrong with a six-year-old wanting to be a vegetarian? Zeke is getting on my nerves.

I felt bad for Jasmine last night but agree she and Crosby don't work well together. I don't particularly care for him with Gaby either though. I was surprised her meddlesome mama wasn't in Crosby's face to remind him of how irresponsible she feels he is.

Anyone watching? Christina is starting to grow on me.

Is no one going to ask MAX about school? Does he get zero say in the decision? I know he's "a kid" and all...but his happiness kind of affects everything

I wouldn't ask Max, personally I don't see him having the capacity to understand the full consequences of the decision.

Me too. I didn't like her for the longest time, but the last few episodes has me seeing her in a new light.

Can someone tell me if anything happened at the end of the show?  My PVR cut off the end of the show and I haven't been able to watch it online (I'm in Canada so it's blocked a lot).  The last I saw was Julia telling Joel that her chances of becoming pregnant were very slim due to the uterine scarring.  Did anything happen after that?

I've always kind of loved Christina and could relate to her.  I have that type A personality where I feel the need to organize and control everything even though it's not always for the best.  She's a much deeper character than I think people thought at the beginning of the show.

4Marmalade,if I remember correctly, that was the last of the show before the scenes for next week.

One of the many things I love about this show is that I end up having something in common with characters I thought I was nothing like. Julia's busy executive life is alien to me but I've had fertility issues and that look when she hugged her mom. bawling.gif

There were things about the characters going to the prom that resonated with me even though that usually leaves me cold in other TV shows. (No not THAT.)

Amber is the one who has me baffled. She did all that work in school for her mom? Just to go to Berkley? Are there no community colleges in that area, no quirky little liberal arts colleges, no state schools? GAH! Would someone at least say that to her. Camille maybe. She won't listen but the black and whiteness of how she is viewing the world is unsettling.

I'm watching!!! I love this show. Christina is still getting on my nerves. Julia is my absolute favorite. As a (former)whom my heart goes out to her so much; sometimes I have to remind myself that she's an actress!

So do you suppose the actress who plays Julia really broke her arm?

Did Amber apply only to UC Berkley?
