I am. They are annoying me with the mommy wars though.

I liked it!

Thanks for reminding me. I only recorded the last part of it. For some reason, the dvr didn't start by itself so I didn't realize it until it was almost over.

I enjoyed it. Can't remember the characters names so I can't be really specific but having been a WOHM with 60+ hour work weeks when my oldest was little I can really relate to the swimming situation.

I'm still watching. I really enjoy it. I'm looking forward seeing where it goes. I love, love, love Lauren Graham.

Even if the sperm in the freezer is unrealistic...I found it funny. Could you seriously imagine being at your SO house (or anyone's) and just pulling out a tank of frozen sperm?

I just got caught up today. I am very much enjoying it. I, too, find the mommy-wars bit tedious and annoying but I'm hoping we'll actually get to know both mommies better and see the complexities of the choices made.

I think they are doing a really great job with the Aspergers diagnosis and struggle for services. If nothing else, episode 3 really highlighted how much social, education and economica privilege really come into play. In the movie, that character (the little boy) was dx'd with OCD and "having worries." I don't think anyone was talking about the autism spectrum and aspergers back then.

I just think the writing is too cliche and stereotypical Hollywood, and I grew up and lived in LA for over 30 years. You can really see the mainstream movie type writing here IMO. I like the actors in it but it is no where near my favorite show though.

I am enjoying it still too. I agree with Arduinna in that it is a bit too cliche, but I also find it a bit more "real" than some of the other shows I enjoy. I was happy that the (at least briefly) showed the older sister's side of the Asperger's story. Having three kids, it can be hard enough some days to make sure they are all feeling attended to, but I can only imagine how much harder that would be with a SN child. And yea, the mommy-war thing is annoying (personally I find both the moms obnoxious); I too hope they continue to develop the characters and give them more depth.

Oh, it's definitely cliche. So was the movie (although the movie dialog was a bit sharper). I like schmaltz, though, every now and again.

At this point, the only reason why I watch it is because of the autism/aspergers story line.

love peter krause!

how many shows have aired so far?

I love this show! Its one of my new faves. I'm having trouble seeing lauren graham as anyone but Lorelai, but she's growing on me.

I LOVE the storyline w/the working mom and Gretchen (?), and I love sweet Max and his pirate costume. This show is ballsy but sensitive. I hope it stays on the air.

LOL Don't worry, she's still Lorelai. I like the show a lot. Obviously they can't just follow the movie plotlines for very long, so I'm curious to see where they go from here.

Too many good shows on in their timeslot so my Tivo has bumped it since this season pass isn't high enough on the list. Looks like they are reairing this weeks episode on Saturday because it's scheduled to record then. I think they are losing me.

yep- we watch on hulu. we really like how real it is, and the depiction of a tight knit family that still has issues.

I like that they are showing a tight knit extended family on tv-- there are more of those around than what people think.

Unfortunately, the WHOM/SHAM is getting to me so much that I think I'm going to stop watching. I feel like it's really unfair to the working mom population.

Me too. I kept expecting Rory to walk in when I watched the pilot.

Really? I thought it was unfair to the SAH moms. At least, the one with a speaking part (Raquel?) seemed too cartoony to be real. Maybe she'll get layers eventually but as written thus far I can see how she'd annoy the mom who works so much overtime.

I really like how there is progression every episode but not everything is solved.

Yeah my sympathies lie (lay?) with the working mom. The SAHM character on Parenthood appears to be a bit nutty--serious problems with boundaries. I predict that the WOHM mom will have a 'crisis' and take a 'leave' to bond with her child which that would tick me off.

I like the show okay. I thought it would be more about parenting when it seems to be just as equally about the parents' lives.
