Because of my (intact) son...

my sitter is keeping her brand new baby boy intact

This is her 4th boy (her DH's 6th son; they are a blended family) and the first to be intact. I have never said a word about penises beyond the fact sheet I gave her when she started watching my kids (detailing the kids' medical needs, favorite foods, comfort objects etc) and assumed she would circ since her DH is Jewish. But today she sent me a message saying she's convinced her DH to leave him intact

Awesome! Make sure she has intact care info! But I assume you gave her that when she started watching your son. This is another reason I always wish boys on intactivist. Just having an intact boy helps people see that it is nothing to fear.

Yes, I gave her info when she started watching the kids. Just a simple "don't retract, just clean what is seen".

Awesome! I've been hoping that my lil guy's intact status will serve as silent intactivism towards babysitters we've used. Teens, so several years (hopefully!) from having babies themselves. I like to give a little mention, while showing them how to use the cloth dipes (I leave out AIOs!) like "just want to make sure you know, since the myth is still circulating that its necessary to clean underneath the foreskin of intact boys. Its not true, you just wipe it down like a finger. Its actually harmful to pull back the foreskin. Thats actually where the myth that not circumcising puts boys at increased risk of infection comes from. Pulling it back would actually be like ripping off a fingernail because the way its fused to the glans. It would make it bleed, and cause infection and scarring. But if you leave it alone, no problem!"..then move on to showing the bed time routine And hope that a few facts will stick with her!
