Will your 3-4 year old willingly go to a class the first time without you? - Page 2

My son would never allow me to drop him off someplace new at age 3! It's his personality.

Do you have Music Together classes in your area? We did participate in a mixed age Music Together class-parents have to stay! It was ages birth-age 5 so my son fit in just fine and it helped build his confidence with me still there. It's an international program so you might have one near you.

Also our local gymnastics place has a lunch bunch program for kids ages 3-5 and the Mom stays in the class as well. Maybe ask in the Finding Your Tribe Forum for your area for programs in which the Mom can stay.
At age 4....my son was then able to be dropped off at preschool but even I stayed the first week.

DD is going on 4 , and was bumped up in both dance and gymnastics because she is very focused and independent. She goes right off with the coach. DS is goin on 6 and spends more time looking for me in sight. IT's getting better fortunately, but he will still freak out if i wen tto the bathroom or something and he couldn't see me

DS has been cheerily waving goodbye to me since he was about 6 months old, not a tear was shed for my absence.

He started daycare at 16 months and loved going, and when he started pre-school at 2.5 at a preK - 12 school in our neighborhood, he was hanging out with the kids of all ages from day one...Mr. Popular, just like his dad. DH's nickname is The Mayor because he just talks to everyone, and ds is the same. I usually feel like a spare tire at those mommy and me play group things...he'd so much prefer I wasn't there.

So I guess all kids are different. I really doubt the other parents are looking at you with judgement...It might even be a twinge of jealousy. I would have relished in even a goodbye hug, let alone a moment of needing me.
