you see someone you love wearing something you knit for them?!
For the past two days my girls have gone off to school wearing things I've lovingly made for them (a skirt, a couple sweaters, and a capelet-type of thing) and it just makes me so happy.

OK, I admit, I am a knitting nerd. :

I love it when my son wears the stuff I knit him - the other day he chose to wear his knit hat instead of his fleece one, and it made me giddy Especially since my DH won't wear anything I knit - at least one of my guys appreciates my work

Ohmygoodness, yes! Especially when I know that what I've knit is also highly functional or super cute for the kids. The balaclava, the hood, the super warm sweater, the little hat that makes my son look like Spanky from the Little Rascals (husband's view) or Rerun from What's Happening (my view). . . Yes, I love it. A wonderful feeling indeed!

awwww! it IS awesome. my 13 year old keeps threatening to wear the way-too-small weasley sweater i knit for him ages ago. he will NEVER hand that down to his brother!

I think its also nice when someone requests something. My aunt asked for some fingerless gloves for christmas next year like she had seen me make for a friend. It made me happy because I know they're wanted. Sometimes I wonder how people feel about my homemade gifts.
