What is your nighttime routine?

DS is 19 months old and we are about to drop his nighttime bottle. I'm a little concerned about doing this because right now he drinks about 14 oz of milk. We start with an 8 oz bottle and then lay hiim down, but he'll start crying and then drink another 6 oz. I would like to cut out the night time bottle altoghether, but not sure if he is ready.

What is your nighttime routiine? Do you give a snack before bed? Milk before bed? What time do you have dinner? What time is bed?

Thanks!

we do a snack before bed unless we eat a later dinner that is right before bed.

with dd1, when we elminated the night time bottle, we diluted the milk with water, and eventually replaced it with a bottle of water, then switched to a straw cup with water. We did this when she was a little over a year (maybe 13-15 months, somewhere around there - it was the first bottle we weaned her off from).

dd2 is 2 1/2 and still nurses to sleep. snack is before dd1's bedtime, dd2 goes to bed about an hour or an hour and a half later with no additional snack.

Dinner for us is usually between 5:30 and 6; DS goes to bed at 8:30, on average (later as of late... I think because daylight hours have snuck up on us). We do a nice messy/nutritious snack (usually avocado or yogurt) right before bathtime.

We put DS to bed with a leak-proof sippy with a bit of water in it. He usually takes a few pulls and then cuddles it like a stuffed animal.
