what would you eat if you had a protozoan parasite infection?

We have protozoan parasites and are having a real hard time getting rid of them. My son has had diarrhea for almost 4 months now. Please help and give advice on what type of foods you would eat to help heal the gut and get rid of these things.
Thank You

I have had blastocystis hominis for 1.5 years now. I have spent every day of that researching, and have tried several different gut healing diets to address the underlying cause and herbal remedies and probiotics to kill the infection. I tried the GAPS/SCD, a traditional anti-candida diet, Bee's Anti-Candida diet, avoiding my IgG blood tested allergens (none of which I actually react to, except dairy), a mainstream high fiber low fat diet, a rotation diet etc etc. Nothing worked.

The only thing that stopped the diarrhea and brought down the counts somewhat for me was Primal Defense Ultra probiotic by Garden of Life, but only in high dosages. I've been taking 12 capsules (60 billion CFU or however it is termed) daily for 6 months.

Hopefully diet and herbal remedies will work for your family, but b. hominis is a super bug and I finally resorted to drugs (Alinia for the b.hominis and Nystatin for the corresponding yeast overgrowth). My stool re test this week came back clear but I still have symptoms so I don't trust it. I will get another one through a better lab before I see my Dr again and he orders a colonoscopy or something. He said maybe my gut just needs a couple of weeks to heal from the ordeal now that the meds killed everything so hopefully he is right.

As far as what does help for diet for me is staying away from dairy. I also am doing gluten free even though I don't react to it, it is such an inflammatory food for the gut I figure I should stay away from it until I heal.
Besides those two restrictions, I am not restricting my diet anymore. When the body is imbalanced and has infection you need as many nutrients as you can get. I think restrictive diets in general are counter productive. Ofcourse, staying away from sugar and limiting even natural sugars is a good idea as that can only help the immune system.

But you'll see so many things on the web that this food "feeds" the infection. Well yeah, the sugar in fruit could theoretically feed it, but fruit also has vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, fiber, etc that feed YOU so your immune system is strengthened to fight.

But what it comes down to is different things work for different people, so don't give up trying if something dosn't work. Some mamas on here swear by grain free and I thought that was the way to go, but that did NOT work for my body. My personal current kick is green smoothies for lot of nutrients.

Hope you get well soon!

Have you checked into the heath and healing section for help?

I would add in probiotics for sure, especially kefir.

As for you question about how much bone broth, I am not sue how that is connected to you issue, but for a child needing healing, 2-3 cups per day.

Food grade diatomaceous earth destroys them. See the thread in this form.
