I really want to try this tea I bought to help regulate hormones and help with mood swings and emotional upset. I was told really good things about it. But then I looked up dong quai and apparently there is controversy about whether it will jumpstart labor. I don't WANT to jumpstart labor for at least 3 more weeks (and even then I'm not trying to induce, just OK with having dd at that point) but I don't feel absolute terror at the thought of drinking it at this point in the pregnancy. I feel like I'm far enough along that the benefits could outweigh the risk. Since I am a hormonal, sleep-deprived mess. It seems dong quai is a lot like red raspberry leaf, but better with the mood regulating where red raspberry leaf is basically just for toning the uterus?
Would you think it safe to take at this point? Also, I would think it makes a difference that it is just one component of a tea, and not a highly concentrated capsule form which I believe is what you use to induce.
Your input appreciated!
