Bravado is a company that sells breastfeeding bras for ladies with breasts that are used for breastfeeding babies. But when Bravado goes out to fashion trade shows to have their pregnant lady models model the breastfeeding bras in their pregnant way, can you guess what happens? Yes, they are banned, for their own pregnant good. From a runway show! In a nightclub! At the Wynn Casino, in Las Vegas, the City of Sin!
WHUT!?!

Probably afraid of them falling off the runway is my guess. Insurance issue.

One of the comments had a good point though....if you are trying to sell lingerie to drunk men in Vegas - perhaps the potential consequences of what happens when the lingerie comes off may be a bit too sobering. So, from that point of view, I can understand it. Purely about sales...

However, the ridiculous notion that they are somehow protecting this poor little model from the evils of even being in proximity to alcohol or, *gasp* in a bar, is so beyond ridiculous that it makes my head all 'splodey.

I really thought, at first, that you had said "ignorance issue"

I don't understand, though... is Bravado actually showing bras at this venue? Are they nursing/pregancy bras? If so, who are they supposed to get to model them?

Yes, Bravado was supposed to show nursing/pregnancy bras at this venue.

I think that's part of the point, they don't want pregnancy/nursing bras messing up the lingerie show in a Vegas casino. i.e. pregnant women in bras are going to hurt our booze sales, and therefore we will say that for their own protections (from teh ebil liquors) that they can't be in the casino showing the lingerie.

That's the whole reason....how much they can sell.

Keep your sexxxy pregnant body covered in your seclusion hut, breeders!

I also love the line..."Bravado is a company that sells breastfeeding bras for ladies with breasts that are used for breastfeeding babies. " Could that be anymore redundant?

But seriously, why were they showing nursing bras at a nightclub? Unlikely their target market was there. Who was in charge of that fiasco?

Although...that being said...it could be a very interesting strip tease tactic to add to one's routine...here's a nipple, Peek-a-boo..there it goes...here's another...ooh la la...there it goes. Oopsie, there's two nipples!

Sort of like reverse pasties.

Can you smoke in casinos in Vegas? I don't remember, but you can in casinos in WA. If so, and I owned the business I wouldn't think it was appropriate for pg women to be there, either. I guess it is just as unsafe for anyone, but still...

I think that they've been caught between a rock and a hard place. They would be heavily criticized for bringing out tons of pg women at midnight to a club in Vegas, but if they were just a participant in the show with others, they probably didn't have the ability to dictate when/where it was.

Yes you can smoke in the casinos in Vegas but there were 2 smoking laws voted in a few years ago that ban smoking in bars that serve food and in restaurants. There are still efforts being made to ban smoking in all casinos.

Well, the thing I don't know is was this an industry show - i.e. selling to vendors - or a public show?

If it was a vendor show, they have no business banning anyone from an industry show - no matter how they couch it.

If it was a public show, then well, the casino should have owned the fact that they just didn't want the nursing bras interfering with the skin show.

Regardless, playing the "it's for their own good!!" card is BS, IMO.

I found some Bravado ads in old issues of Mothering last night. I wish they still did those. Certainly blows away the stereotype (expectation) of pregnant women looking all frumpy, modest, reserved, what have you. Awesome, awesome ads.
