What age can you wear newborn/infant on your back?

My twins are 8 weeks old but born at 34 weeks, so gestationally only 2 weeks old. So they still have little head strength. They are 7 and 8 lbs right now. When do you think I could start carrying one on my back, for example with the Beco or Ergo? They both love to be worn, so I end up switching them back and forth on the Bjorn, but I would love to wear both at once (because the one not being worn usually ends up screaming!). The Beco looked to me in pictures to be able to support the head/neck but I'm not sure-- anyone else with experience with this? I tried the hug hold with the Moby, but found it too bulky to have both in front. Thanks in advance for any advice!

I wouldn't yet. Maybe around 4 months adjusted. I think a moby may work on the back with help but not the ergo.

I started wearing mine in a Becco (similar to an Ergo) on my back at around 3-4 months...with a wrap (like a Moby) on the front (I put that on first) I could wear both at the same time fairly comfortably. Mine were born at 37 weeks so probably not as wee as yours.

i wore mine on back from about 8lbs. they were under 4lbs at birth so it was a while. google 'wraparound joy dropshots' and you should get some videos on how to wrap twins with one on back. hth.

I started doing back carries in a Beco at almost 4 months. I've seen photos of people carrying newborns on their backs, but I just wasn't comfortable until they were a bit bigger. Mine were born at 38.5 weeks.
