At 35 weeks I woke up bleeding and had to stay in the hospital overnight for observation - I was terrified that I was going to have a premature baby and have to birth in the hospital again. Thankfully the bleeding stopped and I was given my Rhogam and sent home the next day. Had inconsistent but stronger-than-braxton-hicks contractions for the next 2 weeks, realized I was probably in real labor on the day of 37 weeks (thank goodness b/c that's how far I had to make it to be able to use the birth center), arrived at the birth center at roughly 5:30 am on April 6 and was already completely dilated (no wonder the car ride was so awful - I was at the tail-end of transition and didn't know it!). Had the most amazing experience just doing what my body wanted me to do - my midwife kept me grounded (and kept me breathing LOL), and thank goodness she and my Dh talked me into getting into the tub b/c I had a great experience birthing my baby in the water at 6:29 am. This was exactly the experience I needed after the ordeal I went through with my first DS. This was just about as perfect as it could have been.
