What are my options? HELP PLEASE

My ex has primary physical custody of my 15yo and 10yo. I live in Mexico and they live in NC.......my 15 yo just called me said his dad beat him up in the car while my 10 yo was in the back seat...my son jumped out of the car and ran....people were outside that saw this happen. My son ran into a doctors office and they called the police and ambulance....my ex drove off. I was on the phone with my son the whole time his dad was doing that....i heard the whole incident...it was VERY disturbing. I called my dad right away and he went to where my son is...they took him to the hospital. What will happen now? I am getting on the next flight out in the morning....but what can i do as far as getting my children. The only reason my ex has the children is because he protested about them coming to live with me in Mexico. There is no other reason or court issues reguarding that. i'm a royal mess....i feel so helpless....i need support please

Mama, I don't know anything about your options, but I just wanted to say I am so sorry that this happened and that you are so far away. Is law enforcement involved? Where is the 10 y/o?

I think I remember your situation. You moved to Mexico with your younger children but you left your older children with their father because he objected to them leaving the country? I would file an emergency request for custody the day you get into town. I would also make sure that child protective services is notified if they weren't already and make sure there is a police report. I am hoping your father will not let your kids return with their father, he may need to call CPS and offer to take the kids until you are in town.

That's horrible! Your poor kids. The emergency request for custody is great advice and the first thing I would try. I would seriously not leave the country unless I had those kids with me. Or take your younger kids and move back to the United States - anything - but do not leave those kids with their "father" ever!
