desperate for help with hemorrhoids

I suddenly have excrutiatingly painful hemorrhoids. I have a really high pain tolerance but this is putting me over the edge. This pg hasn't been easy and now i feel like this is the straw that broke the camel's back. I seriously feel like I can't move, walk, sit, pee without getting chills from the pain. If I do a Kegel I cry. My midwife prescribed me some lanocaine/hydrocortisone cream that I am supposed to apply with an applicator which is also excruciating plus- I hate using such strong medication. I bought a sitz bath and of course I'm doing the witch hazel pads. Anyone please have natural remedies? I am crying. I can't imagine laboring like this!

All I can say is that sitz bath... make it your best friend. Use it several times per day. That helps me more than ANYTHING with mine. Even medicine and attempting to avoid them.

Vari-Gone Cream

I have been using this cream since mine started flaring up badly a few months ago. I read about it on another pregnancy-related message board.

The improvement has been pretty dramatic. I'm due any day now, and do not have pain anymore. Of course, I also used witch hazel pads and alternated heat (heating pad) and cold (ice pack). It's worth a try. Good luck!

I'm about to buy a bidet that installs on the toilet. From reading a lot of reviews, they apparently help considerably. I'm trying to choose between the Bio Bidet i3000 and the Luxe Bidet MB-320 on Amazon. If I can stop using TP, my life will be much more comfortable - I've been dealing with this problem for about 10 years and I'm sick of it. Plus, it'll be great for postpartum and when the monthly visitor returns.
