(NEW) Fuzzi Bunz and Melting Plastic (update post 8)

Several of my daughter's Fuzzi Bunz have had the inner layer of plastic bubble, melt, and peel rendering them unusable. These have all been new Fuzzi Bunz, bought over the past 3 months at different times and from different vendors. This has happened with both the OS and the sized diapers.

For over 2 years I dried all of my diapers (Fuzzi Bunz and bG) and inserts on medium and never had a single issue. When the new FB began melting I figured the heat was too high for them and began drying them separate from the inserts on the lowest heat setting. They're still melting. None of my older sized FBs (bought roughly 12-18 months ago) have melted and none of my bumGenius OS have melted. This is only occurring with the newer Fuzzi Bunz (both solid color and print) introduced at the same time or after the Daisy prints.

I would just not buy anymore FB, but I really like them... a lot more than the bG, mostly because of the snaps. My daughter is close to potty training, but I'm pregnant with #2 so I'd like to figure this out. Has this happened to anyone else?

I have not heard that before and I sell a fair amount of FuzziBunz. I would contact the retailer and have them work with the manufacturer with you. It sounds like you got some sort of defective batch and the manufacturer needs to know that. I would hope that the manufacturer would help you replace the melted product. That is just bizarre.

Good luck finding resolution.

I air dry my FB to possibly improve the elastic life. Works great during the winter!

I'm very rough on my diapers, and this has never happened. And I do have about 12 of the brand new FB OS in my stash. I use very high heat in the dryer to dry quickly... I would 100% contact the seller and FB directly. You should get replacements from FB.

I had this happen with only one FB diaper. It was an old one style though, and I bought it as a second quality. But it's never happened since then. I would contact the retailer.

I have not had any trouble with the FB diapers I have. I have some of the OS and the sized diapers. I would contact FB and ask them about it.

I think you got a bad batch. I use all fuzzi bunz both new and old and very well used (like, putting new elastic for the 2nd time!) and have never had this problem. Perhaps your vendor can work with the company to replace.

Update

Updating this post in case anyone else has the same issue...

I submitted a customer service request to Mother of Eden and they replaced all 6 of the diapers that had the delaminated PUL (even though 1 was out of warranty).

Since I made my original post I haven't had this happen to any of my other diapers, although I have noticed that the PUL on the newer FBs is slightly more brittle than the PUL on the older ones.

I've had it happen to 3 of my FB. It's very frustrating!
