Cat's tooth pointing in wrong direction?

Thread Starter
I just noticed tonight that my cat's lower eye tooth (i think that's what they are called) is pointing out to the side of her mouth at a crazy angle. She's a house cat and hasn't had any accident or trauma occur in the past day or so, or at any time recently. The vet had once told me she has gingivitis, does anyone know if the tooth can just fall out? I guess I'll have to take her in, but funds are tight......

oh, and she won't let me get near it, of course.

Thoughts?

If she had severe gingivitis then yes the tooth can become so lose it falls out...btw the teeth are known as canines Bear in mind though the tooth can be extremely painful and if infection has set in she may need antibiotics. I would call your vet and at least ask if a technician can take a peek at it and see if a vet needs to look at it. (I suggest this because often a tech can take a quick peek for free...not all hospitals do this though.)
