Fish oils and iodine

Does anyone know if ALL fish oils (including CLO) contain iodine or high concentrations of it? My mom is very allergic to iodine, but could really benefit from omega-3s such as in fish oil. I just bought her a bottle of CLO and it, apparently, has a warning about consulting a doctor if you have any problems with iodine. So, she's giving it back, but I would love to find something she can actually take.

Are there any fish oils without iodine? Or does anyone know how much is really in them? Are there good alternatives for omega-3s? I know flax has some, but what is it missing?

Thanks!

Hi! I had concern about iodine in fish oil and contacted the manufacturer. Fish oil is made different ways and I think molecularly distilled should have reduced iodine amts but I'm not sure it gets all of it. My understanding is that people allergic to iodine shouldn't take fish oil: They'd probably be better off with flax seed oil. If it were me, I'd contact the manufacturer to find out for sure.
