Hello
My 10 week old woke up Monday morning with a cough. It's not a dry cough, yet not very wet... somewhat croupy but not croupy enough to be called croupy
She also does this yelping thing (possibly stridor, I think it's called, though I may be way off) She had what I suspected to be a low grade fever a few times, but just nursing her skin to skin seemed to bring it down. She's not congested in any way. She vomited once today, after her morning nursing session. She was laying on her back (crib mattress elevated by a pillow under it, in case she starts getting a runny nose), turned her head to the side and threw up half of the milk she got from me. It was a bit forceful but not necessarily projectile if ykwim. A minute later, the rest of her milk came up, just the same.
I put in a phone call to the nurse at her doctor's office so they should be calling me back. Being Thursday, and the cough starting Monday, I'm a bit worried (though I tend to over react).
I know alot of mamas here on MDC aren't fans of calling the doctor, so I was wondering if there's anything in particular that you would do
I'm expecting to get lectured because we don't vaccinate
And they're going to try and say she has pertussis or something that could have been prevented (uhh.. NO, because her shots would have been around a week ago and I don't think she'd have developed immunity in less than a week with one dose of DTaP).
*ahem*
Anyways... WWYD mamas. I feel bad for my poor sick kiddo! On a side note, I've got a little bit of a runny nose and sore throat, fwiw.
