I found some Kerrygold butter at harris teeter yesterday. I was used to paying about $2.50 or so a pound for butter (I don't use margarine), but the Kerrygold was $6.99 for a half-pound!! What is the real difference between this and Kroger brand butter? Aren't most dairy cows largely grass fed?
Also, there is a long list of suggested supplements. As a single mother of 3 kids on a very limited income, I want to know where to best save money. My baby's Dad has a Costco membership, I have a Sams's membership. I can manage pretty well eating basic, healthy foods. But the "extras" seem to get pricey.
We are doing xylitol (cheapest way seems to be putting it in water and drinking it throughout the day, but I just ordered some Dr. John's candy for the kids), MI paste ($15 a tube, but a tiny bit goes a long way for the baby, and ACT floride rinse (which I'm brushing the baby's teeth with), as per Dr. Ellie's suggestions. The kids have dental insurance so can get cleaning and fluoride treatments at the dentist 2X yearly.
I think maybe the single most important thing I have done is religiously started brushing the baby's teeth before bed and first thing in the morning so there is a minimum of bacteria to feed on lactose at night. I was brushing 1-2 times a day before, but just whenever I thought of it. Maybe after breakfast and after lunch. Never right before bed--things were getting hectic. I have not weaned her and don't think I will, but I'd like it if she'd let me rinse her mouth with xylitol water or brush her mouth out after nighttime feedings.
Pascalite clay and cell salts seem interesting/promising.
