Hi, Everyone in California and beyond.
Today there are many events and rallies organized to speak up about how California state government is cutting drastic amount of funding from public education system.
This is about public education from K-12, and higher education of CSU system and UC system.
There will be rally in front of SF civic center for those of you in bay area at 5PM.
Please come out and show support for public education system. Lots of students, teachers and parents will be there. If you cannot come out today, please contact your governor and local media about this issue and speak your mind.
For this 2009-2010 school year, CSU and UC system has had tremendous impact with lecturers getting laid off left and right, entire department getting demolished (such as Women's studies, yikes) and important classes for graduation getting cut.
This is really important for everybody. Education is the foundation of democracy. If you want democracy, bail out education, not war and banks.
This is also happening throughout our whole nation, so please look for events near you, write to your congressman and local media, even if you are not in California. We are really getting screwed over. Let's take a stand.
