Did you go nto labor at roughly the same time of day with subsequent babies?

I think this subject was posted before, but I couldn't find the thread.

With DD1 I woke at 5am with contrx. 8 yr later I woke around 4am and water broke. While both labors ended up taking different paths, both had Very long time getting to 4cm, then dialated 4-10cm in an hour, then very short push phase.

So I was talking to my mom last night and she told me she went into labor with my brother and I both around 4-6am, took forever to get to 3-4cm, then fast transition, fast push phase.

I thought it was interesting. She then told me that her mom (4 kids) and her sister (3 kids) all awoke early morning in labor, all had the same pattern of slow to start, very intense and fast transition, fast pushing and all were natural vaginal births.

It really made me wonder about the genetic factor there, or if for some reason it is cosmically more likely to go into labor in early morning hours in general.

Roughly the same time of day (early morning) and same day of the week (Monday) both times. Length of labor and progress went much differently, for a number of reasons, but the start time was the same.

Labor started at 1230am the first time, 110am the second time, but were totally different. First started with SROM, not so the second time. First labor was 4.5 hours total with 20 minutes of pushing, second labor was 18 hours with 10 minutes of pushing.

Nope. With DS woke up at 8 am on a Saturday and my water broke with contractions immediately 5 mins apart. He was born at 2:20 that afternoon.

With DD, I went into labor around 9pm on a Saturday night (couldn't remember what day of the week it was but just looked it up in a day of the week calculator ) . She was born just after midnight the next day (3 hour labor).

eta: I'd go for another saturday/sunday baby again given a choice LOL. It was nice as DH happened to be around both times. With fast-ish labors, that was helpful!

LOL, I hear ya! My last DD was born around midnight on a Friday, so no one was at work and we had the weekend to chill.

DS was induced so of course Im sure that doesnt count... DD I started cramping about midnight and had her by 8:30 in the morning. I hope to have this one in the middle of the night so if we live on base the midwife doesnt have to deal with morning rush lol

Opposite times of day.

My water broke with both pregnancies and one was at 10am, one was just after 10pm.

I can't answer this as I am not there yet - but I imagine that the second (third, fourth, etc) times around are probably going to be different than the first because you now also have a child hanging around the house as well. For some people, this means that they may not feel comfortable enough for their bodies to go into labour (and the body is such an amazing thing that it can and will hold off labour if you are in a state for it to do so!) until their first (second, third, etc) child/ren are asleep (that is such a common scenario!). Whilst that wouldn't have been an issue the first time around. - ???
I actually want my son to at least be aware that his baby brother/sister is soon to come into the world - so hope that I do not go into labour in the middle of the night (or at least don't have the baby at the time! ...though dh could always wake him up I guess! lol)

Yep, all 3 times. I woke up with contractions between 4-6 am.

both labors were different, but yes they did start around the same time of day. One about 8 am the other 10:30 am.

Labor 1: SROM at 0230 am on Monday. Contractions started at 0315am and DS1 born at 0540am. I had been 3cm dilated and 80% effaced at 37 weeks. Born at 39 weeks exactly.

Labor 2: Moderate contractions every 15 minutes from midnight to 0100am on a Friday. Contractions every 3-5 minutes starting at 0100am (was 6cm dilated). DS2 born at 0343am. Born at 39 weeks, 4 days.

I had pre-eclampsia so I wasn't able to go into labor on my own. However, my mother went into labor at the same time with both births and had her babies at almost 4:30 am both times (4:32 and 4:29).

I would say yes, they all began around the same time, though they all progressed differently. Especially because I was in the hospital for 2 and home for 2. So somewhere around 10 p.m. I would start and then have a baby by morning. The biggest difference though is that my girls came right out, and my boys didn't want to leave (harder labors)! I am SO hoping this little boy takes after his sisters!

No, DS1 started with my water breaking and wee contractions at 6am, he was born just before 8pm that day.

DS2, I had what I thought were some BH contractions around 5pm ish. I woke up at about 2am with my water breaking and transition labour. DH had the nerve to ask if I was sure. *G* Anyhow, he was born just before 6am.

I'd rather be in labour all day than all night (hoping that is the case this time). I have a hard time sleeping during the daytime, and I remember despite being in the hospital with DS1, just drifting off for a few hours after feeding him with no problems. DS2, I didn't really get to rest until mid afternoon, so I was beat.

Both of my labors were pretty different but sort of similar. With DS I went into labor around 2pm, active labor at 5pm and he was born at 4am. With DD I woke up with back pain, started having contractions at 5pm, and she was born at 9pm.

I think I posted on that thread. Both my labors started the same way, with my water breaking early in the morning, between 4 and 5 am, and the water had meconium. And both times I thought I had gas. But my first was born after 14 hours and my second after 7. Both were born on Sundays, and both times I knew on Saturday that I'd have a baby by Monday.

Mine were all different times, but the actual labor pattern was the same.

First was induced Friday am, he was born Friday afternoon.

Second, my water broke at about 6pm Thursday, he was born around 4am Friday.

Third, lots of prodromal labor, real labor started 9am Saturday, she was born at 10am Saturday.

My first two were hospital births, with long early stages stalling around 3cm until I got the epidural, then they went very, very quickly. My third (first homebirth) had 48 hours of regular, painful contractions that did nothing to my cervix, then 'real' labor started and she was born in an hour.

Yes, all three of mine have been overnight weekend labors with daytime weekend births. Contractions started (or water broke with my first) at about the same time of night - between 11:30pm-12:30am.

All three labors, the very first contractions began in the early morning.
From first contraction to birth:
#1: 3am to 8pm
#2: 4am to 5pm
#3: 7am to 12pm
