Did you go nto labor at roughly the same time of day with subsequent babies? - Page 2

YES!

With my non-induced labors, my labor started around the same time (early labor began about 24 to 30 hours before delivery - and active labor about 3 to 4 hours before delivery with each) and I ended up delivering at almost the exact same time around 11:00 pm. I had slightly differing amounts of early vs active labor - my water never broke to start any labor.

I have been assuming this next baby will be the same way and I hope I'm right because I really enjoyed my long slow early labor - time to get ready and had wonderful birth experiences so far.

So interesting. Thanks for the replies. It funny because when I randomly think about this baby coming, I always picture waking up and labor starting early morning. Like that is just normal, lol.

#1-induction so doesn't count but induction started at 6:00a.m she was born 11:07 p.m. Monday
#2-labor started 10pm-ish, she was born at 2:33 a.m. Tuesday

36 weeks for one, 37 weeks for the other, one was the depth of night and born in early morning, the other started mid morning and was born at midday.

No, but I did deliver them both at the same time of day and on the same day

Toad was born at 3:47pm on a Wednesday after 47 hours of labour.
Frog was born at 2:14pm on a Wednesday after 18 hours of labour.

And because one was born before daylight savings and one after if they'd both been born at the same time of year the differences between their times of birth would have been only 33 minutes!

Thankfully no!!! 1st labor began around 11pm..right as I was getting into bed.

2nd couldn't be more opposite. 1st contrax began around 1pm.. 2 hours after getting out of bed and sleeping for like 12 hours (thank you, dh!) and feeling veeery rested. Ideal time for labor to begin

I was induced with my 1st so I can't count him in but with my other 2 I went into labor at 8 pm and 9 pm. Giving birth at 12 am and 12:40 am

Yes, my labors were almost identical. I went into labor between 2-4 am, took 10 hours to get to 5-6 cms, and a couple hours later had them.

They started the same way too. Loss of some plug through the day along with lots of nesting, and intense cramping and bowels cleaning out at the beginning.

I did not expect them to be so similar. Everyone kept telling me second babies come faster, the midwife didn't think she'd make it, etc. That was not the case with me! I am anxious to see how this labor starts and progresses.

The only things that were noticeably different were pushing and intensity. It took me 30 minutes to push DS out and 3-4 minutes for DD. DD's labor was much more intense and painful, interestingly I had some major stress in my life around her birth and I believe that may have affected labor.

I think you'll find consistencies in when labor begins because there are hormonal fluctuations through each 24 hour period. Our hormones peak around 3am and ebb at about 3pm. As a doula, I get calls all the time around 10-11pm with things starting, then I expect a call around 3-5am. If I wake up in my own bed after 7/8am, I'm usually not called again until the next night. Of course, birth is dynamic and we can't be dogmatic. But there are definite trends to the course of labor anyway because of this.

As far as my own experience, water broke with #1 at 11pm - birth the next day at 4:45pm. Ctx began at 10pm with #2 but baby born at 4:30am (after seven hours of sleep and a half-hour of hell.)

My first two labors started at about the same time (late evening) and lasted about the same amount of time (20 to 22 hours) and had a similar progression (second labor was like a milder version of the first). My third labor was totally different: started in the afternoon, lasted a little over an hour, much less pain. Needless to say I was pleasantly surprised.

Nope.
My first was 5-11:40pm and my second was 12:30-8:30pm. I guess 12:30 and 5 are both "afternoon" but they're pretty far apart. I'm wondering when I'll go into labor with #3-- I definitely want my kids there and my 7 yr. old sleeps like the dead, so hopefully the birth will happen during daytime hours.
