Sears sleep method question

For those successful at Sears sleep method, when baby wakes in crib after 1-2 hours, do you feed baby then try to put back in crib? Not feed? I can't get 8 mo ds back in crib w/o waking him and he cries til I pick him up or take him to my bed. I won't let him cio. What does Sears recommend? I'm desperate to try this, and can't get the book from my library for a few weeks. TIA for sharing what you did to help baby transition to sleeping longer and in his own crib.

I've been nursing, yes. She usually only goes for 5 mins and unlatches herself. If she goes more than 10, I try the PPO. I've started this method of bringing her into my bed and laying her on a small fleece/cotton blanket to nurse. Then I can pick her up easier to slide her back into her (sidecar) crib. She doesn't feel my hands as much, since the blanket is under her. Sliding her into the sidecar works better for me than lifting her up and placing her into a 4-sided crib.

Hope you get some better responses, though. I could use some help with this, too. I think this age is just a bad sleep phase, from what I hear.
