baby gagging self on purpose

Is this totally weird? Our 1 year old just started putting her fingers down her throat and making herself gag. (like if you were making yourself throw up).

I am hoping she is just exploring. It is a bit disturbing. Any other babies do this?

DD does this when she's teething molars...your LO is just about the right age for that. She usually stops after a day or two...once the tooth breaks through.

She might just be exploring her body's reactions. I remember I discovered how to do this when I was three or four--it drove my mother crazy! I wouldn't worry too much about it.

DS did this - he's younger than your LO, but I think it was teething related. Or he was just exploring. He'd always get a reaction from me - I'd tell him that was too far for his hands to go in. He's 10.5 mos now, and I don't think he does it anymore.
They really do want to know everything about their bodies & how they work!
