Gro Baby Cloth Diapers

DH and I went to look at cloth diapers the other day. He really likes the Gro Baby diapers. But we are wondering if anyone has used these and what their real life experience with them is?

We are going to try to cloth diaper this little one due in May, and it will be our first attempt.

We like our GroBaby. We only have 1 in our stash right now because it is a fairly expensive diaper, imo. It works well though. I really like the closure on the GroBaby and the colors are great. My only issue is that their whole deal is that it will grow with your child. We just got ours a few weeks ago and there is no growth left on our rise because my nearly 6 month old is very tall. of course, you have no idea how your baby will grow so, can't say what will happen for your baby. My DD is in the 97th precentile for height, which means she is as tall as a 1 year old

I got the Gro Baby dipes for DD and I love them but I should have spent the extra and got the ones with snaps as our velcro is all worn out and DD is not quite a year, but I only purchased 4 shells as DD is EC'd and didn't think I would need more than that!
Other than that they are the best but not sure how they would fit an a newborn I didn't get them till dd was 2-3 months

I have one and like it well enough. I use it when we go out and I'm not sure I'll have a place or time to change DS. That being said, it's not microfleece, so your baby feels the wet more and some babies cannot tolerate that. I much prefer the Tiny Tush Elite one size pocket and I've been eyeing some fuzzibunz one size.

If it's your first, my advice would be to try a variety of brands & styles to see what works best for you & your baby. I adored the colorful little kissaluvs, but ds1 was not so much a fan! He didn't like to feel wet. I kept about half of them for ds2, and they barely fit him now at 10 weeks, he's such a chunky monkey!

We have one of the Gro baby. I already had diapers before the Gro baby diapers were "out" but I couldn't resist the fun color.

I agree that it does get more of a wet feel earlier but that doesn't really bother me. I love the colors they have, I do think it has held up pretty well and it is overall a nice diaper.

I have a couple and they are OK. I don't think they are the greatest thing ever, but I like them. I don't like the drying time of the inserts. I run them through one dry cycle and then hang to dry the rest of the way. The one dry cycle gets them most of the way dry, but not all the way. I usually do diaper laundry at night so by morning the inserts are usually dry. I do plan to use the shells I have and some of the biosoakers for the first couple days/weeks after this baby is born in April and for one of my other children. I'm going to have three in diapers and I don't want to be doing laundry all the time, so this is kind of an in between of cloth and disposable. I'll still have diaper laundry, just not as much right after birth.

I received an email a little bit ago about them having some seconds listed on their site for about $15-$16 each set. I don't know if they still have any left, but it might be worth looking to save a little bit of money. I've bought some seconds from them before with no problems.

I ordered a couple GroBaby diapers and I'm not impressed. I mean, they do great because Jude has never leaked and they fit well, but they advertise that you can use the same shell. Uh, maybe if you spend a lot of time adjusting the soaker so it fits JUST SO and your baby NEVER moves, that's true, but my baby wiggles and every time he wears his GroBaby dipes the soaker gets all bunched up so his poo leaks on the shell and I have to change it anyway. Not worth $24 each, IMO.

They're ok. I'd give them a 3 out of 5 stars. I like Flip Stay dry better. They fit my son much better and he hates feeling wet. I found Gro Baby gaped at the front no matter how tight we made them. They are bulky too and take forever to dry. The velcro stops working after awhile and it costs to convert them to snaps. The shell stank after a whole night too.

But they do contain poop very well! Just be prepared to change the entire diaper after a poop because it always gets on the shell, but that's the same with Flip too!

ETA: My son was on the unsnapped rise at 7 months. He's a tall boy though. With Flip, he is still on the middle rise with plenty room to grow.

I adore my gro baby diapers. They are my favorite for going out for the day. Yes BF poop will get on the shell but now DD only poops once a day and I can usually catch it (EC)

nicki's diapers sells a similar concept diaper which I haven't tried but it looks pretty good.

it's also cheaper
