I wouldn't think so because I offered two shirt for my son brendan to wear and he chose his gray shirt with red stripe put it on and his friend also came over she's pretty open if something stinks but she didn't say anything.

Anyhow , mom said brendan shirt was reeking of cat smell and cat urine(the cat always pees in his litter box but pooing is a different story) that she could barely even sit near him when she was visiting his class because she was gagging by the smell hence she's allergic to the cat so i'm going if brendan shirt is that bad smelling why would he even choose to wear it ? I didn't even smell anything but then I lost most of my scent of smell awhile ago .

I suspect that like everyone else, if the smell were offensive to the child, he wouldn't wear it. Either the shirt didn't really smell or your ds wasn't bothered by it.
