clomid and progesteron test

When is the best time of day to test progesterone level on clomid to ensure ovulation?
I usually do it in the morning just after my tea. Will the progesterone level be higher if I test in the afternoon or evening?

Hmm i think you may be testing something else, progesterone is usually a blood test taken 7 days after suspected ovulation and in a lab.

are you talking about your ovulation predictor kit (OPK)? that is testing your luteinizing hormone (LH) which trigger ovulation and the test is best when done the same time every day (some ladies pick two times) and early afternoon is the time that they say is best for most ladies.
Some ladies end up finding out they catch the surge at another time of day, but you might as well start with the average and see how the month turns out.

does this explain things for you?

Sorry for the confusion.
I use OPKs to see if I am oting or not.

But to make sure that I ovulated, my doctor asked me to do progesterone blood test on day 21. He says if it is greater than 5, it means I ovulated.

I am not using the BBT method. I'll definitely see the link you suggested in the previous thread.

Clomid can give false positives on OPKs if you start too early. I was told to wait 5 days after your last Clomid pill to begin OPKs (I use OvaTel now as I find it more reliable). You should 'o' 7-9 days after your last pill.

Progesterone should be checked on 2-4 DPO to confirm ovulation and on 7 DPO to check peak Progesterone to see if you have low Progesterone (yet still 'o' normal) or LPD. I had 2-4 DPO Progesterones at 15 or more and not on Progesterone a 7 DPO level of 8 Once on the supps I was at 30 or more at 7 DPO.
