Malaria meds ????

Can anyone share their experience with giving their babies malaria medication(malarone). I am traveling to India for 3 weeks with my 6 month old baby (16 lbs) Any other advise on traveling with babe would be most helpful. I am still exclusively breastfeeding and question taking malarone myself.

My daughter was treated for malaria with malarone when she was four months old. She was fine, we noticed no side effects from the medication. It tastes terrible mashed up so it was put into the nipple of a bottle and mixed with juice so she could take it.

I have also taken malarone as a preventitive and didn't notice any side effects, except loose stools. My understanding is that it is one of 'better' malaria meds in that it has more benign side effects.
