I've tried blw. He picks at things but doesn't get a whole lot in. He nurses lots still so at least he gets that. I've tried purees, its on and off on how much he would actually eat. I tried not to worry but its starting to get to me. He is a walking, babbling active monkey and a skinny mini (albeit tall) and is in the 10-15 percentile. Not sure what to do except keep offering different foods. Any btdt stories are appreciated.

hi mary!
sounds like my DS1 (named Miles actually!) was-- he started trying things around 10 mos but at a year was still pretty limited. I wasn't worried though as he was nursing a lot.
now my DS2 just turned one (4 days after yours) and still hasn't eaten anything.....
Don't worry mama! he will eat what he needs to-- just keep offering healthy foods to pick at/play with and nurse on demand.
I really think babies up to age 2 need mama's milk more than anything-- food is still in it's introductory stage! let him play, he will get there eventually!

You are not alone. I've been grappling with the same issue, though my DS is only 9 mo. He's not even crawling yet, and gets around by rolling, and trying to scootch on his belly without much success. So, I'm stressed about milestones too!
I started him on rice cereal at 7 mo and started adding homemade pureed veggies at 8 mo and some fruit as well. It's been hit or miss. He will actually gag at new food to the point of vomiting if the texture or taste is new. It's taken persistence, but some days he eats ok and others not at all. Today, he has refused any solids, and yesterday, only had maybe a tablespoon.
My DH tells me to relax and that he'll get there when he gets there. He'll develop in his own sweet time. Just keep offering him food daily and someday, the switch will go off.
I guess the thing to ask yourself is, "Have you ever met a toddler who didn't eat?" or (in my case--a toddler that didn't walk?) etc...
Let's both relaaaxxxx....(I know, sometimes easier said than done).

Is he still nursing?
My first did not eat more than a tablespoon of food a day (and even skipped several days in a row, frequently) until she was 16 months old. In her case I wasn't worried because she showed no signs of any sort of texture issues or sensory issues, she just preferred to nurse.
Unless there's something else that's bothering you (suspecting a sensory problem or something) I would just continue nursing on demand and offering healthy foods.
BTW, my DD now eats everything and anything. No pickiness. Except mushrooms. She doesn't like those

Miles nurses lots.
As far as I can tell, no sensory/texture issues. He does eat but not a lot and not everyday. He likes to eat when he wants to eat. Its just not frequent or a lot, sometimes he'll eat a jar's worth but that is not the trend. I'm just worried that he'll skip out on eating and the later in age he eats the less he'll really want to eat. That's my worry. Whether that is based on fact or my paranoia, its what is nagging me.
Sorry for the vent.

My DD was like this. She started eating more food as she aged. By 2yo she was eating normal meals (well, normal for a 2yo...). She's 4yo now and still tall-ish and thin-ish, but she eats well enough (well, somehow she hasn't been eating many veggies lately, and is a pasta fiend, but you know...).

My dd wasn't into eating really until I got pregnant and my supply dropped. She'd eat some things (pasta was a BIG hit) but wouldn't eat everyday or even every couple of days. She's now 5 and eats most things (has some very normal dislikes.)
Ds was a picky eater and had some sensory issues revolving around his mouth. I did worry about him because he'd only eat crunchy, non-wet food for a long time. With the help of ST and OT he eats a pretty normal 3-year-old meal. There are still days when I'm sure he's living on air, but he is growing so I can't really complain.
