When I should I become concerned about DD walking on the insides of her feet?? She can't wear certain shoes because of the way she walks her on her feet. She is 20 months now

I'd have early intervention do an evaluation of gross motor and/or consult a pediatrician to ask for a referral to a pediatric orthopedist. Both would be best. I don't know whether you should be worried. Some kids will correct that on their own and some won't but that it limits her shoe choices makes me think you would want it looked at from a structural angle in case she needs some help.

I agree with Rachelle.

Corrective shoes/braces and or Physical Therapy might be a good idea. Depending on the cause. This is something an orthopedist can help you with. Pediatric one preferably.

Question...our chiropractor and pedi that we have seen says not to worry about her feet. The pedi said it's genetic...I don't buy that because neither DH or I have this problem.

Tell the pediatrician you want a referral to an pediatric orthopedic doctor. Don't take "it's nothing" as an answer--stand your ground and tell her it's important to you to have a specialist in the area evaluate her. I listened to our ped. w/my son (another issue) and she was very wrong delaying treatment to his detriment.

I would definately insist on a referral to a Pediatric Orthopedic Doc. We also listened to our Ped eventhough our gut said something was wrong. Well the Ped was way wrong. They don't know everything.
