When did your LO go from 2 naps to 1? - Page 2

dd was 9 months. she started taking the morning nap later and later and then would either fall asleep at like 6pm for her second nap or just skip it entirely. we worked on having her skip it and moved her bedtime up (from 10pm to 8pm.)

i don't remember exactly when ds went to one nap, but i think it was around 10 months. for sure it was before 1 year.

DD just dropped her 2nd nap when she turned 15 months old, about 2 weeks ago. Her naps were sliding later and later in the day for several months. Plus it was taking her forever to fall asleep for the mornin nap - she would play in the crib for like 45 minutes then sleep. It took us 4-5 days to fine tune but now we are a solid one-napper!

ds gave up the 2nd nap at 11 months, and is down to about 3 or 4 naps a week now at 18 months.

DD gave up the afternoon nap at 9 months, she still naps at 2 years, anywhere between 1.5 and 2.5 hours starting late morning.

Wow, the walking thing is light globe moment for me. DD went to one nap just before 12 months which is when she started walking. DS is only 9 months but he's desperately trying to drop that second nap. He had two today and has only just now fallen asleep at midnight. He took his first step yesterday.

We happily dropped DD's afternoon nap at 11 months (also when she started walking). I was like 'finally, I think I am allowed to drop it'. It was always a struggle. Then around 17 months she didn't want any nap at all. I went with it for weeks, following her lead, but eventually decided to come up with ways to get her down for my sanity. I have to trick her. Any mention of the word nap would send her into a frenzy. So I just throw her in my ergo and do chores with her music on and she falls asleep within 20 minutes, and then I transfer her into bed. She sleeps a whopping 45 minutes and wakes up smiling.

My neice is 14 months and still takes 2 naps and loves it. She would probably be a mess if she didn't.

When DD was 12 months old, she began flip-flopping between 1 and 2 naps and then when she was 13 months old, she settled into 1 nap.
