Does anyone here give bone broth to their (+/-9mo) LO's?

I am wondering if any of you mama's had success in giving their LO's bone broth. My LO 6 days short of 9 months and in a lapse of judgment (he begs for what we have) I gave him broth from MIL's chicken soup with the whole chicken in. The whole chicken was organic, the rest was not. She also puts rice, parsley, and meatballs in it. He LOVED it. I am thinking of making him something similar that's all organic, probably no meatballs. Any advice/warnings? Thanks so much!

I don't see anything wrong with giving him exactly what you did. I'm not concerned with eating everything organic - unfortunately you can't avoid EVERY contaminant in our environment. It's nice that you want to make your child organic soup, but don't stress about giving him some of yours, or call it a lapse of judgment. It was just fine.

My 8.5 month old loves curried soups made with homemade bone broth. I think I'd give him the broth base of any soup I was eating if he wanted it, along with bites of the other ingredients if he wanted that (actually, I don't offer grains yet, so I wouldn't do rice -- but that's me.)

Go for it, I say. That's what we're doing. He slurps it off the spoon over and over again.

Both my kids got lots of broth and stock at that age. I put it in a cup with a straw and they'd slurp it down.

I wish bone broth had been my ds's first solid food. I think it is the PERFECT first addition to a babe's diet (after breastmilk, of course!)

Thanks so much for your replies. I am currently looking into locating and buying bones from organic chicken or beef and figuring something out to feed LO. I appreciate your help!
