7 weeks 1 day pregnant with baby #2. Had no problems with baby #1.
This time I was having some spotting issues and I have a UTI.
My second HCG/progesterone test was done Friday...
My levels came back.
The first HCG was 5126 (ish...they told me it was 5000 but when I looked at the screen I am pretty sure it said 5126). The second level Friday (48 hours later) came back at 5613....
The progesterone the first time was a 5. The second one was 18.3 (I'm on progesterone pills)!!!!
I'm so confused...
IF everything IS okay, why didn't the hcg number go up at LEAST to like 8,000 or something? I mean....I know sometimes it takes longer than 48 hours to double, but only going up about 500 seems to me like something still could be wrong?
I am encouraged by the progesterone going up so much though! That is a definite plus!
I also do not have any spotting aymore, and we DID see a heartbeat on an ultrasound Thursday (the HB was 114bpm
), and the US said that everything looks great!!!!!
So why am I still a bit cautious and nervous and worried?
Any thoughts? Has this ever happened to anyone else and been totally fine?
They scheduled another US for March 17 when I'll be about 8 weeks 4 days or something like that.
My homebirth midwife suggested doing more blood work on Monday or something..but I"m not necessarily sure I want to because I am not sure I need the added stress if the numbers aren't as high as we think they should be....I almost want to just try and enjoy this pregnancy however long I have it (and I'm still banking on the fact that there WAS a STRONG heartbeat and everything looked great at yesterday's US so everything really COULD be fine..right??).
Ugh.
Any thoughts mamas?
