Its 33F outside, would you BBQ?

Thread Starter
ok, this coming from someone who once BBQ'd while it was snowing (which were expecting today) but today I just can't bring myself to go out and do it. I really don't want to have to freeze up this chicken and want to stock the freezer with the cooked chicken. I have about 30 lbs total to cook up today and 6-12 of it will be grilled.

Would you suck it up and grill it? If I don't I'll have the fun of bagging it and thawing is the bane of my existance in the kitchen. It will spoil long before it thaws in the fridge.

argh, just realized I posted this in the wrong forum, can a mod move it over to Nutrition and Good Eating?

I would do it. At this time of year, that temperature does not feel nearly as cold as it did last fall!

we have grilled 3x this week and it hasn't been over 36f....we're weird though.

Would I do it? Heck no... I'd send DH out to do it!

Actually, we do occasionally grill in just above freezing weather. Just not if we have to slosh through snow or inclement weather. Grilling in the rain is one thing when it's 75 degrees out. It's another story when it's 40.

We do year round.

We BBQ year round. Even when we lived in Bozeman, Montana.

I send DH to do it. He watches the grill through the window. And yes its been flurrying when hes been grilling. My mom got a grill for Christmas and Dad has been grilling in the garage.

Absolutely. We use the grill outside year round.

We grilled steaks and burgers for dinner last night, I think it was about 30F.

I would if we had one. We need to replace our BBQ. When we do, we'll be so thrilled that we'll probably use it non-stop. I miss delicious grilled food.

My dad & dh grill year round, though in the winter if we think about it and get it timed right we'll sometimes grill inside in the woodstove.... but that takes a bit of advanced planning (letting the stove die down), and that does not happen alll the time, at best, maybe 20-30% of the time? So, mostly outside But, I don't grill for the most part, period and certainly not in the middle of winter. Thats THEIR job!!

Yes It's always good to grill out. With spring approaching here I smelled someone cooking out yesterday, it was a great feeling!
